THE Hollow Handle Knife Thread

I don't remember if it was mid 80s or early 90s they made those, I saw it in a knife shop in Okc at the time. I didn't care for the sheath I do remember that, and the serrations were razor sharp, as in too sharp to touch. The owner of the store took it out to show me and opened up his thumb.

Hi guys, there's a lot of good stuff in this thread, I like them all. May I humbly submit my HH knife. I'm sure some of you have seen it, but maybe some of you would like to.

It is based on the 1911 Colt auto grip frame. It uses the magazine for the gear compartment. Has a diamond hone, magnesium ferric rod, fish hooks, needles, synthetic sinew a Leatherman Micra and an led flashlight.

Hope you like it.

Mark, that's one of the most unique and interesting knives I've seen in a while. I like it!

Mark, you and your knives are more than welcome in this thread! I agree with bowie, I like it a lot! I remember seeing your knife/system before, and thinking it was very innovative. One of my favorite things about it is that it's not just a rehash of other ideas, you came up with something to add to the HH idea. Very cool, and I also like that you have tested it out.

I seem to remember seeing either pics or video of the knife in use. By all means, if you want to, please post some pics or links. I'm sure people would like to see them, and you'll probably sell another knife or two. Great work.

Jeepin asked for a pic of the inside of the handle on my Martin knife, best pics I could manage.

You can see the tang of the knife screwed into the base of the hilt and the epoxy in and around it. Its about an inch and a half or so deep, leaves a pretty good size cavity for stuff.

Nothin for Nothin... I have to say that my new Ray Matton handmade First Blood Tribute Knife is by far the best knife I have so far. That knife is excellently made in Every way. It has top-notch balance and that incredible 60° hrc tempered D2 blade is just Phenominal!! Superior wear resistance and edge holding, this knife just absolutely has it all!!! And that supreme 9" blade is the Perfect size and shape.

Truly a remarkable knife. That Ray Matton is one outstanding knife designer and knife mafer.. To me, there's just no comparison, especially with his excellent customer service skills.

Thanks for the pics. I want one so bad

Well worth the money, really well made and the heat treat is right on. I'm really impressed with how well it holds an edge and the overall build quality.

Great thread. I love hollow handles. Planning on selling my Robert Parrish

Man, just cant seem to make my mind up here. One min, my Matton Edge FB knife is best. Next minute, it's my Martin MCE II thts the best. Then I blink, and suddenly I greatly favor any one of my 3 Andrew Clifford hh knives. Pretty soon I will have my brand new handmade Sam Wilson knife and It will be the best. So I will just say this and make things easier for myself: They are All the very best hh knives ever!!!! LOL.

I've not taken a pic of my full collection yet. Was waiting to get my Sam Wilson knife first. Then I plan to take a pic of all my high end survivalknives, hollow handle and full tang. Havent gotten the Sam Wilson yet though. So.might go ahead and take pic of the ones I do have and include Sam's knife later.

Here is a pic of my brand new Sam Wilson handmade Model 1 HH Knife with Sam's very own sheath creation, the MOA Sheath System. This knife is so high quality and massive that I have nicknamed it THE BEAST!! Blade: 9 1/2 inches 5160 high carbon steel, just under 1/4 inch thick. Handle is either 416 or 304 stainless steel and thin micarta around it via first layer, then cord wrapped. The Micarta layer is also Sam's idea via in case the cord needs to be removed in survival situation, the knife still has a handle. What an incredible idea. I had a similar idea as well, but it involved two seperate cord wraps. However, I like Sam's idea much better. The endcap is the 6160 hard aluminum. Man, I cannot wait to get this knife. It is exceptionally balanced. Sam Wilson is taking the knife world by storm, that's for sure!!
