The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

How does every one feel about the RGT clips? I’m not a fan and looking to pass one along to anyone who wants it.

It’s really hard to slip over the pocket of my carhartt and Riggs work pants just annoying and much prefer the factory clip.

I tried one on a Zaan…hard pass for me as well. Good on ya for your generosity however.
As someone who's long felt that the pocket clip was one of the worst aberrations in the history of cutting tools, I have found the CRK clips to be most satisfactory. I still prefer a short fob with a carbineer girth hitched to it, but haven't quite figured out how to make that work on my CRKs. I was eyeballing the Jekyll to Hyde backspacers, but my discretionary budget is a bit scant for the time being.

I'm okay with the clips on the other five CRKs but for the two Zaans.

I’ve grown to really like the usefulness of the lanyard. I was thinking how great it would be if there was a clip on the lanyard and wouldn’t need a clip on the knife. Was thinking of rigging one up myself.

You are looking for a devise called a pocket dangler.

For decades I carried Spyderco and David Boye knifes in my pocket, and usually removed the clip from them so I wouldn't be tempted to use it.

The clips would scratch and scar the leather MOMO steering wheels all of my cars had in the 80's 90's and early 00's.

These days I use the clips more often than not, but now that it's legal here I also carry larger knives generally.

I have also taken to liking lanyards. After using them on CRK's I have added them to several of the Spydercos that get regular carry.

I still have cars with fat leather MOMO's, but only drive Them a few times a year now. I do have to be mindful of pocketting my knife when I drive them though.

Also, am I the only one who doesn't 'get' the whole "deep carry" clip deal that is so popular ?? I am adding lanyards to make it easier to grab a tool quickly, not trying to make it harder to access.

I can even fathom why anyone wants a deep carry clip on a knife you are planning on using. That’s one of the things that makes the CRK clip so great, its hold the knife perfectly to grab.

Thanks. Was washing dishes and something told me to look at my phone.
I replied before I even looked at all the pictures....
Quick trip for a spa and inspection. They will most likely be able to fix the blade centering as long as the CF isn’t the cause.
