The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

Any of you guys know what Crk did to the Wilson combat knives to achieve that darker finish. I blasted the scales to remove the oxi clean bronze finish of my starbenza the other day and it’s just not as dark as it looks like they come from the factory. Is this simply just using the correct media? Or I’m just crazy haha.

"Does the spa treatment get rid of scratches on the blade?"

They should be able to re tumble and sharpen it which should have it looking near new. Not sure if it's included in spa.

What media did you use? Wipe it down with WD40

It’s called black blast, basically a knock off black beauty. A mix of 60% fine and 40% extra fine recycled coal slag. I did wipe it down with WD-40 a couple times. It’s not a bad finish just a little lighter than I would have liked.

I looked at re-tumble for a 21 I sent back earlier this year (I didn’t end up doing it) it’s an extra $80 cost and can only be done once in the blades life. Possibly for a well worn 21 blade may be better to get a re-blade especially since they will be in magnacut soon-ish.

Is there any new info on this? I only own one 21, but would love to have it rebladed. MC would be awesome.

I can’t remember who but someone here on the forum asked and they said maybe later this year they could be taking orders? It was confirmed several places that it’s happening, just the timeline isn’t clear yet to my knowledge. Maybe someone else has an update though.

Good information to consider, thank you

I am probably going to enjoy and carry it as is for quite a while when it arrives.

Just wanted to give you guys a final chance on this free lanyard. Going to put it on the exchange for free soon. If anyone wants it pm me.

Very true. It's really a wonderful offer, mitchnola mitchnola . That's some first class, top grade, premium level enabling happening there. 😂

Like Modernflame, I would consider it, but would have to buy another knife to put it on. And, since that one would probably already have a lanyard, the process would keep repeating. It's safer for me to not start that snowball rolling, though I certainly appreciate it.

I think it's a helluva nice thing to do. My problem is that if I let you send me that lanyard, my diseased brain will tell me to buy another knife to match it.

haha, it absolutely was all a trick so I could see a new purchase! 😂 Well the temptation is over, someone has fallen into the trap. The virus is spreading!

It’s the only one. It just arrived today from a dealer. I had a KSF Linen Micarta Magnacut Insingo for about 11 minutes on Monday before I moved it on.
I would love to find a first run “ ball groove” inkosi.
Tell me more about this first run ball groove inkosi. Sounds like it may need to be in the list for my inkosi collection.
