The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

I have a question for owners of small drop point inkosis. How is the cutting geometry? Obviously, it's a robust grind, which is the goal, but does it get reasonably thin behind the edge or is it an axe?

Well, I only have one, and it still has the factory edge on it. It measures .024 BTE from choil to tip (does not seem to get thicker at the tip). The odd part, is that the secondary bevel is much taller at the choil, and gets shorter at the tip.

It cuts cardboard well. Truthfully, I haven't used it much yet. No idea what the angle is until I get it on the WE.

As measurements go, it seems to be thicker overall than a small 31. But, I haven't really used my small 31 much either. I'd be much more comfortable peircing something with the small Inkosi than the small 31.

Hope that gives you a bit of an idea.

I couldn't have wished for a more complete answer. I'm grateful.

Just because I have rarely seen a wood mnandi in stock (the carbon fiber almost always seems to be around), there are two ebony and a bog oak available at knife works if someone is on the hunt for one. Still no magnacut, it seems that they haven’t run through their S45 stock yet. I still have not seen an impinda in stock online. In theory they have a batch in magnacut coming sometime soon. It’s clearly not the most popular model but I do enjoy mine. It will be nice to see when they have fully swapped the entire line over to magnacut. I guess early 2024 they should be there.

In '93 I was working international narcotics trafficking investigations in Miami, having transferred down from NYC six years earlier.

Here's me and my partner...
