The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

I’m a birk fanboy, it’s all I wear when not at work!

Me to, I have one pair at the office and 4 at home.

These are the latest ones, khaki color(they come in many colors) and waterproof. Not fully as comfy as the leather ones but the best u can wear at the beach ;)

I’ll probably get a pair of those next summer. My next pair is some leather Arizonas. My dog chewed up my first pair. I used to buy birks like I’m now buying crks. The Londons are my favorites but I only get to wear em in the winter. It’s Arizona’s the rest of the time.

I called the 3 places I was yesterday after work. Asked about the knife and got 3 no’s. I left my name and number as well as a notice that I would pay 100 bucks reward for the knife back.

Got a call just after I got home this afternoon from the gas station saying a mother and her young son had just brought the knife in. I guess the young man found it on the floor and put it into his coat pocket. Mom found it this morning before school and told him they were taking it back.
When they were told about the reward mom said it wasn’t needed but the clerk got her to leave her number just in case.

I just got home from picking up the knife and dropping off a $100 dollar bill to a very nice 9 year old boy named Troy who actually lives just a couple blocks from me. Mom said it was too much ( I didn’t tell her what it cost) but I insisted the young man get to learn honestly usually pays off!

Alls well that ends well!
The world is right again. Congrats! I think you'll love it more now!

I lost my small Sebenza not long after I first got it. Good news was that I was in my own yard and my wife found it after I explained through my panic what had happened and where I had been. It has carried a small bright orange para cord lanyard since that day.
I think most everyone who read about your knife being gone wanted to puke for you. What a save!

Kettleman Kettleman , fantastic! A little faith in humanity restored as I read on many counts. I am incredibly happy that it worked out for you; "knowing" you from here you seem like a genuinely upstanding and decent person; and of course your generosity is known by me.

Not sure about the Crocs though.

Thank you for the kind words!

As for the crocs, I swore for years I’d never be caught dead in them. Then a real bad case of plantar fasciitis got me sent to a podiatrist that recommended I wear them as much as I could when not in boots while I healed and I’ve never looked back!

Berks in the summer and crocs in the winter! The kind without the holes are awesome slip on and take the dogs out shoes!!!

I used to wear Birks a lot, but Plantar Fasciitis put the kibosh on that for me. I need a bit more offset inthe heels these days.

I can imagine Mom's reaction when she foud it !

So I have been spending a decent amount of time with my Original and Regular in anticipation of the arrival of my P, and they continue to amaze me. I am just floored by the smoothness and absolute quality of these legacy knives. It is so obvious where the action of a completely broken in 21 comes from but even that can not compare to these. It becomes so very clear how and why the world couldn't / can’t get enough of the Sebenza.
I am sure no snob, knife or otherwise, and would hate to ever be seen as one. With that said, if you haven't had the opportunity to handle an early Chris Reeve knife you just can not fully appreciate the newer ones.
I feel very fortunate to own these amazing knives, it feels like owning a bit of modern knife history and I wish I could share it with all of you CRK/Sebenza fans.

Has anyone gotten a CRK with alternate tools? I know on the website it says depends on availability. I just bought a Umnumzaan 11/21/23 and the 1/8” Allen keys are black. Smaller Allen is silver like normal. First time seeing this.
