From what I understand, the pivot bushing takes the impact when the knife is flicked open. Over time, it damages the bushing and shortens the life span of important parts. The other part is that most guys were wrist flicking, which substantially increases the impact. I've seen videos of Tim Reeve thumb flicking a 21, but only after it was broken in enough to be done with thumb only, and no wrist.I’ve seen a few youtube videos of guys doing that in an attempt to get drop shut action on their sebbies.
I could care less about drop shut and it’s not how I close any of my knives but I’m curious why it seems to be a sebbie sin to want to flick them open? I have nothing against the slow roll but just wonder why the flick seems to be frowned upon.
Cause I’m flicking away the second that puppy is broken in and ready!![]()
