The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

Magnacut insingo I recently received doesn't appear to have convex grind. It was made on Halloween, so maybe someone was feeling a little frisky at the sharpening wheel that day? Looks like a full flat grind with visible secondary bevel. Very different than my 21 S35 convex grinds. Are all the Magnacut grinds coming this way now?

Yes, actually I have seen that on some, but not all. My eight CRKS were all made in 2023. Some are more convex than others. Heres a close up of one that's flat. This is the factory edge. Looks like a triangular secondary to me.

Well guys I did it, I turned off notifications for CRK sale exchange. It was hard but I think once I get through the withdrawal few weeks I can get some fresh air and see what it’s like to enjoy the ones I have. Ok I just need to say that 3 times a day for the next few weeks and I’ll be ok… 🤣🤣🤣

Kettleman Kettleman you coming with me or still waiting for the PJ classic to grace your doors?

Still looking for my white whale! Right after I get it I AM OUT!!!

I tried to be a lanyard guy because I like the looks of them.

When I got my 31 I first tried the original for some weeks, but couldn't cope with the fact that the noose is not fixed and needs to be tightened all the time. Also the tip of the blade kept freying the cord when its on the lanyard pin:

Then I tried without the pin and 5 snake knots, but didnt like the paracord sticking out of my pocket:

So today I had some hosomaki salmon sushi while I installed the pin with some loctite to get rid of the rattling. I'm back 360° and a happy boi

Have a nice weekend guys n gals and Merry Christmas!

Well my Small P Sebenza turned out to be but a myth. Seller went dark and gave fake / spoofed tracking info to myself and several others after other deals. This is why I hate fishing in the bay! Oh well money refunded and moving on.

This made my blood pressure rise. The last part brought it back down to normal, though. This is the part when I'd counsel you to buy from known community members, but I see why you're wading in the bay.

Saves me a ton of time reprofiling. It's also the sharpest CRK I've ever received.

Factory edge.

So while scouring the market looking for my precious, I ran across 2 incredibly [ redacted ] people. The first was the [ redacted ] that thought doing this to an amazing and rare knife was a good idea, and the second the [ redacted ] that bought it.

This was a late 2011 or early 12 OP Zaan. A transition knife spanning the bridge between OP and current. What a [ redacted ] waste! I looked for almost 7 years for this knife before giving up and settling on mine.

/rant

EDIT: Let me clarify, folks can do what ever they want with their knives and everyone has different tastes, my issue is the knife they ruined in the name of creative expression.

EDIT 2: Redacted to stay within family friendly boundaries …sorry.

It is akin to seeing a mauve mustang. Like, yeah, it's your car and everything, but why?

Hey Guys,
Quick question, who was it that told me they shared a birthday with my Zaan?

I think it's kinda crazy how empty the marked is for a large sebenza plain in MC right now. I mean u would think the factory would be on top of demand by now?

Thoughts?

From what I understand they make them in batches. first in, first out or in the order the orders were received from dealers. The market fluctuates from quarter to quarter as well. Right now you can’t find a PJ 31 but in 6 months that might be all you will find and there will be no inlay’s in stock anywhere. From what I’ve seen the last few months the majority of the releases have been exclusives, inlay both wood and Micarta. I’m guessing you will see some in the next few months. Granted, they still sell out very quickly. Also, they absolutely can not keep up with the market demand, that is why Lead times are in the 3-6 year mark if you order direct from them. Best bet is to sign up for in stock notifications from all or most of the dealers they list on their website. I hope you find one soon!
