My latest CRK also has the newer micarta, and since it does reside on a 31 I too like the older style. If it were an Inkosi it probably wouldn’t “bother” me as much - which it really doesn’t all that much - but the 31’s have such a large inlay it is pretty glaring.

Finally got a Insingo BLK Micarta 31... but that new Micarta? Yay or nay?

Its def way smoother than the old and less interesting IMHO. Most if not all of the new ones use this tighter/straighter canvas pattern as far as I can tell. What say you? Am I just nostalgic?

Is it old/new Micarta or does it just change over time? Different batch?

My Large Sebenza 21 has that tighter/straight pattern and my Large Sebenza Damascus 31 has that wavy pattern.

I don’t think they have. Some of the pattern is edge cut, that’s what makes the distinct wiggly pattern. I guess the way it’s cut decides the look.
I can live with either.
