That is stunning!Late to the party with my Hyrax. TL;DR I’m an idiot, Les is amazing, check with him on crazy knife provenance before buying.
Word was Les and Chad each made a prototype of the Hyrax. This was supposedly the one that Les made. Previously owner bought it from AZCK with this description (https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/421941/). I bought it and contacted Les for some more details on the history. Turns out they didn’t prototype the Hyrax. So while I thought I was getting the one and only prototype from Les, it was all a lie.
On a positive note, this one does appear to be out of the first batch. Mike Irie ground the blade and Les put it through an 18 hour burnishing cycle to get the near mirror finish.
It’s an amazing knife and I’m happy to have it. I want to believe it’s this one that Les is showing off:probably not but I can dream.

Regardless of the non-prototype provenance, that is an absolutely gorgeous knife. Those Tephra milled scales and the mirror polish blade are magnificent.Late to the party with my Hyrax. TL;DR I’m an idiot, Les is amazing, check with him on crazy knife provenance before buying.
I’m feeling the need to put the hyrax on my list! Beautiful!!Late to the party with my Hyrax. TL;DR I’m an idiot, Les is amazing, check with him on crazy knife provenance before buying.

Tossed a stonewashed dagger logo clip onto the MEFP MK3 this weekend.
Think it cleans up the look and the stonewash clip is way easier in and out of pocket than the DLC clip.
… Les’ logo clips are just generally badassHope it’s a great week yall!
Day 8: Morph Monday
Special shout out toccsmith449 for allowing me to put this VECP flipper in my collection (and for being able to meet his lovely family). It's still the only Les piece I've ever bought in person, but I'd love to be able to add to that list at Blade Atlanta this year!

Is that a virtual event or physical ?That's a beauty right there!!
Whitty said there is a 75% chance that Les is going to come to the USA Made Blade grand reopening on 4/20. Fingers crossed that percentage continues to increase!!
It is a physical event! Is that a virtual event or physical ?
The one Derek posted today is a flipper, which I got from Aaron Sorkin (you connected me with him!) - I did buy a standard Morph VECP from you at one point last year!ccsmith449 did I sell you that morph vecp? If so nice to see
Necroanax got it. I sold it when I got my tanto vecp. Then upgraded my tanto with a sweep tanto from Necro to complete the circle. Lol
I thought I sold you a morph vecp. I should keep a log of all my brokerage deals! The one Derek posted today is a flipper, which I got from Aaron Sorkin (you connected me with him!) - I did buy a standard Morph VECP from you at one point last year!
I'm going to do my best to get out there as well. Just googled it and it's 464 miles from my house to his shop 7 hrs 33 minutes. Sounds like a road trip to me! I may drag my 20 year old son with me, hopefully get a bit of father and son time inIt is a physical event!
They are doing an open house and official grand reopening of their store front in Salisbury, NC.
So far the only maker that is 100% confirmed to be in attendance is Hinderer. I’m sure Nic Nichols and Neely Knife & Tool will attend.
Les & McNees are actively trying to come from what Whitty said on last Thursday’s Instagram live show. Koenig might come as well.
The last open house in 2022 was a blast so I’m definitely going this year. Would be extremely cool if Les makes it and brings some knives!!
