The New 2014 BladeForums KNIFE Thread!

Sounds great Waynorth. I hope that this forum pattern does not replace a pattern that you might be developing for yourself as a SFO. The process you propose is very reasonable. Thank you for doing this. The "profit" topic or the illusion of it is what turned me off last year. And yes, I know this requires a lot of work.

Once things are decided, I will be glad to pay up front for the entire knife and then make up any change later if it works out to be more expensive.

Glad to hear this a go and that Charlie is at the helm.

Cant wait to see what is in store for us.

Great thanks to Spark, the mods, Charlie and John. What a great group we have here in Traditionals! FREE STAG!!

Charlie, I think your plan is excellent. I would certainly hope for pattern choices to include multiblades with both bellied and straight blades. If single blade is preferred by the majority, then a zulu is a terrific all-around blade shape. Let the polls begin! :)

This is great news

A big thank you to Charlie and all those involved behind the scenes.

I hope that we can adopt a "pre-payment to vote" system so that only those who are actually buying knives and have financially committed to the project can contribute to choosing the final knife.

Steven

I think the plan as Charlie has laid it out sounds perfect. I hope everyone remembers the goal here is to produce a knife to satisfy the group, not the individual. Participate when asked, contribute, see what evolves, buy it if you like it, pass if you don't. Real simple process. Considering Charlie has the reins, a supply of stag and looking to get these out the door @ $100 already makes this one a winner.

Awesome news! Thanks Mr Waynorth, Mr Lloyd, Spark and all the other behind the scenes people who are putting time and effort towards this!

This has been a bit of a long road this year. Charlie was willing to do this. Gary and I thank him for it. We also thank Kevin for being willing to let this happen, and John for his generous offer of cover material. Whatever knife comes up, I am certain will be a winner. Every SFO I have seen developed with Charlie's input has been fantastic.

That being said, this needs to be a positive experience for everyone, including Charlie. Be advised that Gary and I are going to be protective of this effort.

Hear Hear Frank, 1000% behind you in what you say.

Agree with every part of this.

I too like the sound of this and the players. Count me in as well.

Charles

Thank you Charlie for agreeing to take on this project. I will support whatever process you establish for determining the final knife. I'm sure with your stewardship the 2014 knife will be a winner. A note of caution: just remember not everyone will be pleased with the process or results so don't take any criticism personally. Now....when do we start the voting!!!!:D

Well said.

Thanks to the entire group that are getting the 2014 knife project up and going. As in the past Stockdog is in for one and will work on others. Will need to pay with MO and have patience to wait.

Thanks

Bob

Wow, just wow. THANK YOU to everyone, Charlie, John, Dave, the folks at GEC, everyone. It seems 2014 will prove to be a good year, I'm certainly darn excited!

I'm in for a 2014 knife. I've never purchased a BladeForums knife. How is payment made? Is it strictly paypal or will there be other payment methods?
Thanks.....Bruno
