Todd, that is too bad about the dog.

14 years is a pretty long life, especially for a lab. And it sounds like he had a hell of a life.

hey now!

I was gentle. ;) :D

That's the problem.:D

We have a big rat snake somewhere around here. Today we found a six or seven foot long skin in one the outside cabinets.

Probably this one.

Thanks guys. Truth is, I'll be fine. The sad thing is, my wife and my mother in law own a daycare that's right next door to my mother in laws house, so, literally my kids, and about 20 other kids have played with this dog
every day for the last 10 years or so. His name was Freedom because she got him on 9-11-2001. You couldn't ask for a better dog. He loved kids. My kids esspecially. Gonna be a lot of broken hearts that I can't fix. That's what's sad to me. That and the fact that my mother in law will be lost. She'll be alone. I think I'll try to have her over for dinner tomarrow. She loves my meatloaf! ;)

I hate snakes. Funny thing is, I've had great relationships with black snakes. My father in law had a small cabin in one of the most remote locations in indiana. Used to go there and hunt, fish, camp etc. There was all kinds of snakes up there. The cabin was rough to say the least. I killed every snake I saw, which was often. However, there was a huge black snake that I left alone. He ate all of the mice that I would find in what I called a bedroom. We had a agreement, lol. He didn't bite me and kept mice out of my sh!t, and I didn't kill him. It worked out great. (I miss that place, and that snake)

Daaamn. That's a crazy snake picture. All we have here in western washington is gardener snakes. They pee on you if the pick them up

Haha. People don't think we have many snakes here in indiana, but actually we have quite the population, we have a huge amount of copperheads, water moc. and rattlesnakes. The largest rattlesnake ever caught in indiana history was caught about 12 miles from my house in one of our families favorite camping spots. If I see them, I don't bother them, and I can leave them alone, its being suprised by them that freeks me out. They always give me the creeps though!

I am not a big fan of snakes either. When we had all the flooding this spring, the yard became a refuge for water moccasins. Many of them met the business end of a shovel.

This snake has been around for a while. Last summer while mowing, I saw what I thought was a tree branch in the yard. Nope, it was that big s.o.b.

The yard mower has a 5 ft. deck on it, and that sucker stuck out past the deck, on both sides.

I waited for it to go by.:D

You know who else has a problem with snakes?

*BAM*

This blade was a wreck, but the rescue turned out ok with only a couple visible scars.

Looks nice Daizee. Dubz is right it looks like it would be nice for camp food prep. I like the blonde streak in the wood too. What kind is it? How thick is the blade?

This one is more of a kitchen carver. It's btw 1/8" and 3/32" at the ricasso with a FFG so it IS slicey. It's got a fairly acute kitchen angle on the edge. Blade is 1095, wood is Guayacan, which was a nice surprise to work with. It's in the knife block now, but I've yet to cut anything but paper with it.

when I rented that movie I thought it was just the title, I had no idea it would actually be a movie about snakes on a plane  was only part way through and I just couldn't take it anymore... I thought it would be good with samuel in it, boy was I wrong.....

nice daizee, someday when I get my britches back on I'd like to have a hand at something to be sported around the kitchen..
