I need some of that encouragement right there.... way to go man, I bet you feel great....

Thanks. Food logging, more walking/hiking, and a 5K training program. Once I got past the first 2-3 weeks of food logging (1700 calories a day), it got a lot easier.

Did y'all see where Dan and L.T. (Blind Horse Knives) made national news? Look out. Prices are about to go up. :D http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/02/living/aj-irpt-blind-horse-knives/index.html?hpt=hp_c3

Good for them. Fine fellers.

I wouldn't worry about a price increase. You can always get the double up pack up price. :D

Great link G-man!

On another note:
I scored a 1945 USN MK-2 Legitimus-Collins machete today. It's has a 22" blade and the original handle from what I can tell. It needs a lot of work, very rusty, but the handle is in good shape.

Just put a bastard file to it and use it. I have had many collins blades. They are the best machetes ever made. I prefer mine 24", but the 22's are great too.

Doc

I've already started working on the edge and don't think I'll do much more than get it back to a working edge.
I don't own but one "safe queen" so it'll get used til it gives up on me. Then I'll mod it and use it some more.

Carpet is good stuff for absorbing impact, we used to use it to build judo mats at home when I was a small child.

Had a lot of extra as my dad was an installer.

Very cool! L.T. was a huge help to us this year in helping us prepare for BLADE. Awesome guys, very classy.

Cheers!

I've thought about getting a SAK but I always come back to leathermans because I want the pliers. I carry a sidekick whenever I leave the house.

I always carried my Wave, but got tired of it hitting everything all the time.

Always have a a victorinox farmer on me. I use the knife and screwdriver all the time. I used to carry one of the smaller leathermans in my watch pocket until it loosened up quite a bit.

Speaking of sacks.......amazon prime video has 7, 24 episode long seasons of MacGyver. I believe I know what I'll be watching on the TV for a while!!!

I'm watching Wooster and Jeeves... Again. Something about this show makes me chuckle and cheers me up.

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie... AWESOMENESS!

I sometimes carry my mini channel locks with me. I forget they're even in my pocket:

fixing!

mmm... termites love damp wood, you're lucky if you don't have a trail... I found some here when we moved, po had it treated and I was suppose to wait 90days 'per termidor specs', afterward I started digging in to replace wood and its been a nightmare... had to reframe a 9' arch window and a complete wall including 12" header.. replace fascia, soffet, siding and roofing.. have it dried in and can't wait:rolleyes:to start re siding...

btw, I was sucking up live sub-termites at a dead valley above the roof line....called up pest service that sprayed before to retreat for free as now I've removed brick ledger to make it easier to get the spray wand in there...

long story even longer, I'm so versed on termites now (after sleepless months of research) I'm seriously considering getting a license as this yahoo handed me a zeroed out receipt "per state mandate" which showed the lowest ratio of termidor mixture...

needless to say I bought two 78oz kits myself at the tune of $280, so I can properly treat area with strongest mixture recommended for 'live' activity, instead of fufu juice.... could've bought at least a couple Beckers instead... :(

Yeah I got a New Wave and the pocket clip to go with it but it was just a bit too heavy and bulky for my liking. The sidekick is just lighter and smaller enough that it doesn't bother me.

Don't bother after the third season. Gets all preachy and he hardly crafts anything. I've seen every episode and if he would just carry a stinking gun he wouldn't have had to Macqyver his way out of so much crap.

not a single termite or black/carpenter ant, but i did find two dead mice and one squirrel... had to remove 3 inches of a secondary inner joist to get access, and then voila, found a LARGE nest of pink hay (fiberglass), apparently before the previous owners sealed up (hid) everything with foam, the squirrel was "coming and going"

inner sills are completely removed. almost. few more inches. will buy one more board to be sure, as well, i want a membrane kit, and probably a "water return threshhold". plus more chisels.

then i get to look for more issues. i imagine that residing the house someday should be ... fascinating. horror show.

i did have "ant visitors", from the outside. found and sealed many holes, and then went through 2 gallons of "Ortho Home Defense" per Ethan's suggestion. two days later, a lot of dead ants, with trails showing me where to seal more.

good times
