What about a edc or folder?
So if I say yes to this here does that put me first in line in for one?I wonder how people would feel about a limited edition DEK1, with satin finish and popsicle stick handles with a Loriendesign sheath? Maximum of 18?
Interesting. Nathan how do you foresee optimized magnacut differing from delta 3v?I'd rather you stick with D3V than go with MagnaCut. While MagnaCut is an awesome new steel, D3V will be roughly twice as tough, with only about a 20 percent loss in edge wear. Toughness has been a key part of CPK's well deserved reputation.
I can see you going with a DEK optimized for edge wear, but then you have lots of other steels that would do better, such as 10V or Vanadis 8. But there are lots of choices. At 61 Rc, for example, Vanax would cut longer than MagnaCut, although not by a lot, and be even more stainless. And the toughness of Vanax would be plenty in any knife that doesn't need high toughness.
Regardless, it would be nice to see some actual testing and hear your logic before going with a new steel.
The man is talking sense!I was really hoping to see Integral Dagger, Something Shiv-ish and the long anticipated Folder. DEK variants do not exactly warm up my cockles but then again that is because I already own 3 very exquisite and rare DEK1s with possibility of a 4th finding its way to me at some future pointDuring these past 5.5 years with you, I have only missed one preorder (the CC) which at times I regretted but I managed to live without.
Your reasoning for taking on the next preorder makes very good business sense and it will satiate the ever growing CPK posse, it's a good business and economic move. I'll wait for the next "vintage Nathan" in CPM-3V with the Delta magic sauce. I have sold every other fancying and higher $ folder which I had owned but one Military in the anticipation of the CPK-Folder but I do own one of Mark's mammoth folders (in terms of size not material!) with your DNA added onto it. This will get me content till your Folder preorder![]()
I'd be game for this. The EDC has awesome ergos but I never found myself reaching for it on a regular basis. A litter less chunky would lessen the ergonomics, but I think it might be a fair exchange.I'd like to see a thinner, narrower, and nimbler version of the EDC. I am not sure what that would look like exactly but on occasion, when I carry and/or use my EDC, I think, "I wish the blade was narrower" or "I wish the handle wasn't quite as chunky".
