Here is a sneak peek. The final edge still has to be put on and a sheath made. I'll take proper pics and give specs when I'm finished.:o

I read something in the contest rules where they're going to cover up the maker's marks to prevent bias. Somehow I don't think that's going to matter much with a Marchand piece :)

Wrap the handle in duct tape and paint the blade pink.... it'll still scream "I'm a Marchand, and I will cut you"!!

Well guys I leave for my wedding in a couple days in a couple days. I have been super busy but did get my challenge knife put together:

The blade is 4 7/8"" long tip to scales, handle is 4 3/4" long. Scales are desert ironwood with orange G10 liners. Steel is 5/32" 52100. Copper pins & thong tube.

Also got a knife done for the cake cutting:

So I decided that I didnt grind my knife thin enough. Reground it with handle on and jacked up the grind...dope! Oh well, at least its a slicer now!

Copper Bolster/Guard
Leather backed, hemp wrap, epoxy soaked
Mild steel butt cap
Through tang, tapered, peened
Leather cord Turks head knot
Forged/Etched finish
Sheath is veg tanned cowhide , tooled, sewn and riveted by hand
Wax dipped.

That's outstanding. I keep coming back to this thread, just to check it out. Really nice. It would actually fit my hand too.
