I think, i did alright, sort off. Had to go with suede lace instead of thick leather strand. I did 4 strands round braiding and then closed it with a 4 strands footrope/diamond knot (new to me, this one), love the 4 tails, though. I added some ranger diamond knot spacers between the Ti and the Mokuti bead so it won’t scratch the Mokuti.

I got a pretty nice pic of this knife the other day and was surprised to find after searching that it seems I haven't posted it here before despite the fact that I've had it for some time now. I had this Delrin bead from the artsy/craftsy site on another knife for a while and eventually replaced it. The knife was once a 551 Griptilian which I bought on the Exchange entirely modded with Kevin Wilkins' replacement blade, clear coat aluminum BMG X2 scales, and his polished deep carry clip. I eventually swapped clips around on three knives and ended up with this black, Parkerized split arrow--one of my favorite clips-- on this one, complementing the other black hardware and providing better contrast. The black bead and Licorice 550 cord add to that The only caveat here is that after looking at the pic I realized I needed to better cinch up those last three snake knots. You'll just have to trust that I did. ;)

That's a cool bead right there. And snake knots, you'd not believe it but they give me a headache ! Every time I go to tie them I get it screwed up which way it goes! and you'd think it would be a simple thing but nah! trouble those slippery snake knots !
:)

Try this one Gary, it almost an easier and more natural way to do a snake knot but the first knot and last aren’t as asymmetrical like the traditional way.

Not as easy as it looks
You can say that again! I spent over 4 hours yesterday making a key fob out of a knot I've never done before. When it was finished, I showed it to my wife who wrinkled her nose and went pew!
It is now all taken apart to be made into something else. LOL.
To cold outside to do anything. So nothing beats staying inside tending the fire and playing with string!

I made a short video of how I create my snake knots, for the life of me I kept getting the loop wrong in about as many ways as possible but I have it down now... I hope!

G2

sorry for the poor audio if I keep making videos I might need a microphone
