The Official Lanyard Thread

Happy with how this turned out. Looking forward to more color combos!

That looks great Danger!
As far as fobs adding up over time your knot kidding! (lol) I must have 40 of the dam things floating around here. It's gotten so that I make them and just rip em apart unless they come out really good. I have given away dozens and every zipper my wife and I have is now sporting string. It never ends...I have made enough bracelets to cover my wifes whole arm too!
This is a small sample:

After some back and forth about BM 710's and 705's at the EDC thread and tying up a new lanyard on my user 710, I decided to replace the matching meh tail on its companion 705. I complemented what I added to and posted here with the larger knife by downscaling the work on the smaller with standard Crown and Diamonds Knots surrounding a single knurled lamp parts brass bead.

What a great thread. Thanks all for contributing. In the past I've just put basic lanyards on fixed blades. Then a few weeks ago, for Lord knows whatever reason, I decided to do this. It's a snake weave ? or whatever. It came out ok enough to give me some interest. I grabbed some new para today for something different. I am tired of the camo or earth tones, so I grabbed this reddish/black Bergundy stuff. I've always kind of admired those Monkey Fists, so who knows. I may give r' a whirl. These snake doo dads where pretty easy.

Yeah, snake knots! Lots of fancy knots out there, but that remains my favorite for knives. Try to look up the two-tone snake knot on YouTube. Looks really cool.

Tied one onto my Jurassic last night, using some snake knots and finishing off with a diamond knot. I still haven't got too deep into the bead thing, but I can see it's coming before too long. I considered a Hinderer anodized bronze bead to match, a joker bead to tie in to my screen name, and a bearded skull which looks eerily like me (I have a foot long beard usually kept in ties). In the end I ended up just going with a piece of brass that I had laying around (IIRC it was from the "lamp parts" section of ACE hardware) which I put a patina on to match the flamed bronze finish I had previously put on the hardware. I'm happy with the results.

Also I don't think I've posted the leather one I put on my Sebenza 31. Just some leather boot lace that I had to slice down the middle to fit the pin. By no means perfect, but I've embraced the wabi and kinda dig it.

Okee doke. This was my rookie attempt just before bed last night. It's a bit twisted etc. but good enough for it's intended use. It should be fun to try different/harder knots.
