The Official Lanyard Thread

Those are some good looking knots, Chazzy. Looking at yours, I guess I've overtightened anytime I try diamond knots, cuz they've never looked like that.
Thanks, man. Just to be clear, those are Crown and Diamonds which are very different than the Diamond knots most often seen here. There's also an Extended Crown and Diamond that I've used several times which has a second internal crossover. I've got another knife on it's way with a bead and cord awaiting its arrival and might well go with a couple EC&D's for its tail. I'll probably have to go back to YouTube for a refresher on that one too.

All these great pics have brought me back into the tying world. Currently fighting a bad bout with osteoarthritis in my right thumb so can't do a lot. Been keeping busy in the wood shop as that takes less thumb work.
Had another small piece of wood left over so I made another bead and tied this up:

Not sure what I will put it on but I know I'll find something.

I know where you're at with arthritis, Mr.sig239 Mr.sig239 . After spending a half-century in construction, my hands are pretty beat up and often don't do what I require of them. I'd written above about tying up a couple Extended Crown and Diamonds on the PM2 I'd referred to and followed up with a video refresher, but found myself fumbling through one attempt after another. I finally got one knot done after considerable effort and decided that a pair of them would actually be too long for a knife the size of the PM2. I ended up tying two regular diamonds which suited the shape of the spherical Ultem bead much better anyway.

I'll follow up sonofwilfred sonofwilfred 's post with a bead he knows on my recently acquired Al Mar SERE 2000. I'd been offered and almost purchased a nicely re-profiled like new OD green scaled knife but really preferred the black and I'm glad I waited. I found the bright clip hiding under the box foam and changed it up today when I finished tuning the knife after tying up the tail yesterday.

The bead kinda mimics the Al Mar logo and the black 550 maintains the overall color scheme.
