I was just posting in @Norvox 's thread about his double standoff mod for the butt end of his CRK Umnumzaan as my thoughts on that cool little tweak relate to the use of a lanyard on that knife. Here's a couple shots of my StarTac with its current pull.

I got another ZT 0550 and did some scale swapping. I also added this lanyard/bead that the scale maker sent with that scale. I'm not sure that I'm a skull bead guy but it was laying around so why not.

I shot these to include in a PM with another member, but figured I'd post 'em here too. I really like the way that the lanyard hole is incorporated into the back-spacers on the Shiro 111 and F3 as well as the Hinderer MP-1.

I think the lanyard on today's EDC knife is the equivalent of yesteryear's sword knot. You can do without it, but it does serve a purpose and some knives are just incomplete without one.

Small Sebenza 21, 550 cord snake knotted with Samurai helmet in between braids. I've been waiting on this for a little while to come from Eastern Europe because it was the best looking Samurai helmet bead I could find; unfortunately I couldn't find one from a U.S. seller. I'm glad it's here though! The weight of the bead seems to counter-weight the blade making the opening a bit smoother and giving me better control, not to mention a better grip when drawing from the pocket.

A few I was messing with today. I particularly like the Benchmade Crooked River. I know many folks don't like the orange on it but I love that color and decided to double down on it. The bead for the Giant Mouse was stolen from one of my Chris Reeve lanyards. I don't really care for lanyards on the Chris Reeves.

I wanted to get something to use as lanyard beads without spending lots on the specially made ones. Lowes didn't have the brass hex nuts I wanted to try but these 1/4" brass compression sleeves worked pretty well. I'm hoping they will get a nice patina over time like the brass pens and tops I have. The price was right, I think $1.60 for three.

Posting from Vermont on our last night of a week up here in our beautiful woods. I've only got my phone to work with up here and with very little signal it's a chore to get pics edited and uploaded.

I picked up this gorgeous big Ti bead from BF member Inspiribomb and tied up a new lanyard on my Turtle with 550 King Tut.
