Two things I have learned from this thread: 1) Baldtaco-II is an amazing photographer. 2) I need to get a digital camera so I can put up pics of my local outdoor hangout spots.

Not only Baldtaco-II but you'll find quite a few folks on here really know their way around a camera and the best part............. they like to share their pics.

Some shots from around the fire pit in the woods behind my house...

photos from work today, while driving the dumptruck:

Fraser River NORTH arm, near Richmond BC:

rotary rail bridge, rotates to allow ships/barges up the Fraser and trains to cross the river to Annicis Island (MAJOR cargo hub):

20 foot wide bearing/gear/roller track mechanism. The bridge is SILENT when it rotates, its powered by electrical motors.

part of an old marina hoist, languishing in the river for the last 40 years.

My pack containing a few extra pocket knives (griptilian; salt; and swiss tool) chest strap has my sheath with burger exk1 in it with a fixed blade on bottom strap. Dont know the name. something like amazona or so. cheap thing bought long ago but its surprising very good! Also in backpack is extra water and first aid kit with a wool jersey. o yes and the maps of the farm to identify erosion areas and areas where biodiversity might be affected.

Also had my seb in a sheath on my belt, compass around my neck and walking stick a foot shorter than me.

One of the few areas I found along the river where the bush wasn't that thick. nice area for camp also an ideal habitat for nyala buck.

Some chopping for tinder and wood. (note: the handle of the fix blade has a guard coming around the pinkie that really bites into the little finger)
