The " Roosters " are crowing for the " Farmers"

Lyle, great knives and thanks for the education, I never knew the history and completely misinterpreted the pattern name.

Nice Challenge, Philllll!
Two great finds, Augie/John!
Great collections, Robert and Paul!!
You are on the right path, Josh!;)

Right path indeed. Robert helped me find the last ebony Lick Creek from the same place as Paul. It should be here tomorrow!

The one Phil got is my favorite of Charlie's, the jigging and dye job are really good looking. I just wish GEC would do this type of random jigging more often (I realize I say this all the time).

Thank you Charlie, the #38 is truly a sleeper for me. I never paid it much attention before other than an appreciation for its curves, curves always catch my eye, Nanc can confirm that;):D

When my first one arrived two summer's ago while building my front deck it just proved to be such a comfortable, capable work knife, scribed spindles (carpenter pencil was always someplace else) split wood shims and extracted a sliver or two:thumbup:

Anybody heard from Lyle?

He's been absent both here and at AAPK.

He was having some health issues.

Charlie Noyes

I'm disturbed to hear this. I hope he gets his strength back soon, he has opened up a whole new world of knives for me when he began sharing pictures of his collection and getting a wonderful SFO together. A knife near unobtainable here in Europe these days.

I had asked Lyle a few weeks back if he was doing an sfo with the new 38s and he told me the same thing. Busy enjoying life with a new lady.

Good for him.

I too was concerned - actually VERY concerned about Lyle, but I hear that things are going really well for him, not sure on any details but that was enough to make me smile hearing that! - I did send him a pm quite some time ago.

Mr. Hilborn! - again, another sly one who oooozes out of the wood work with a mindblowing knife - or two - or three lol

Thank you Duncan, there were 4 or so different handle materials and 2 steels for the Queens, they are quite nice.

Charlie, I heard that about Lyle also, he probably found one of those West Virginia women that lives down in a hollow with no phone or internet:D
Seriously, I am happy for him and I hope we get to meet her at the Rendezvous although our group may scare her away.:)

Yep- they sure are Augie.

Lyle if you read this sometime soon my friend- you'll have to make your way down to the rendezvous- and bring that lovely lady of yours as well.
If not my friend? We will just have to start buying up all those Farmer jacks ourselves- as you can see there are quite a few starting this trend:D

I hear tell she is a veterinarian, and quite connected and competent!
And beautiful!!

I'm affiliating to Tim, those Lick Creeks are very nice, Josh!
The patina looks mighty good on these too!
Thanks everybody for feeding this thread with all the great pictures and information,
and thank you Mr. Lyle Fry and Mr. Charlie Campagna for creating this SFO!
I just received my second Farmer Jack today and do like it a lot...
