I am of sound mind and have loved knives since my grandfather gave me one 50 years ago. Day of reconnecting my ass

Looks good to me. The clip side has a few little dark spots, they are clear in the pictures. Based off his behavior I would be apt to tell him to pound sand. Unless Diablo has pictures showing damage.
I don’t know.. it muddies things up a bit that insults have been thrown around. I’m thinking if they were still polite about it all a return, inspection, and refund would be in order.. but at this point you can’t know who is going to play games throughout that process.

It’s a tough one. Could be better they just part ways at this point if mediation finds no lies about condition were told.

That's kind of my point. Diablo is never going to be made whole, he feels ripped off and from his behavior and the pics posted clearly showing the knifes condition, I would say unreasonably so. He has a chance to make his case, but right now from what I've seen The Shatz hasn't misrepresented anything, and Diablo's behavior is unacceptable.

I saw pics on the profile briefly where the “gouge” was pointed out (gone now). That’s where the lockbar engages the tang. Looks normal like on my CRK Inkosi.

I really don’t want to play games Iv been collecting for a long time and have had zero issues until this one. I know what a sebenza looks like
I own many the knife was not misrepresented.

I think the only point this could’ve been veered on course was maybe if when he initially contacted you about being frustrated it was more so “I’m sorry you’re disappointed let’s try to figure out a solution” as opposed to “I told you the condition, tough”. Not saying he couldn’t have done better as well with how he handled his demeanor.

I'm with you on this one. The knife isn't some $5,000 custom. It has normal handling and wear marks, $700 was a good deal. Homeboy didn't know what he was buying.

Gouge in the blade that’s laughable. The pics tell the story they were taken the same day I boxed it to send off. As for white smudges they weren’t there when I sold it.

This may become the new standard definition of "tempest in a teapot". I'm having a serious WTF reaction to the hysteria.

T The Shatz If you are willing to receive the knife back from him and it is in the condition you sent it, I agree that the better part of valor in this case may be to refund him and put it back up for sale. If it is not in the condition sent, clearly that would change the equation.

I wouldn't offer a refund in advance, especially since the buyer seems to be somewhat inconsistent, for lack of a better term and without throwing insults around.

Sorry that it has come to this. I think most of us here commiserate with you.

No offense but you're making a lot of good faith assumptions about OP... who sounded queer from jump street to many of us.

I doubt it was much different off board.

Shatzer, definitely don't refund this guy anything until you have the knife back in hand and can confirm it's in the exact condition you sent it in.

OP sounds like a flipper by his own description 🫤

I’m not here to pick sides. I’m just offering ideas on how this could’ve been improved. A little “please”, “thank you”, “I’m sorry”, “how can I make this better” goes a long way. This is a community, not a business. Opinions differ.

I buy most of my knives used or like new condition. I get them in the mail, I look at them and check them out. A few times I’ve seen a blemish on them and go back and look at the pictures and it was present in the photos every time. Might not have been mentioned in words but they were in the pictures so I should’ve looked closer if it mattered to me. The kicker is… I don’t really care. I buy 90% of my knives to use and carry. I realize to some guys that’s a very big deal. I like to think that MOST of the time when anybody feels like they’ve been cheated or misled it’s more than likely an honest mistake. I also feel like in this case Diablo should’ve studied the pictures More closely.

At this point, I would ask the buyer to provide photos of all supposed problems before sending it for a refund. I would want to have a good idea it was in the same condition before hitting the mail. If all agree, then mail it, and refund on getting it.

Agreed, unless the knife has a critical issue like lock failure I can deal with small imperfections. If the goal is to buy a knife on the secondary and flip it as brand new, I can see where the buyer is going to be a pain in your ass. Even if the knife is practically new, I’ve tried to quit using the terminology like LNIB, BNIB, perfect etc on my sales threads to avoid pita buyers who expect utter perfection from a knife sold on the secondary.
