Why, hello there, Mr. Blue Heron.

laser vision? nice seeing you :D

a/c comb. huh.

Just applied for another TSO position, this time in Fairbanks, AK. My test for all of the positions is tomorrow morning.

Also Emerson/Kershaw Collab CQC 4K is kinda hot and cheap as dirt. What the actual hell...lol

Just picked one up from the exchange; came a couple days ago. I'm gonna make it my new work knife. I totally love how the wave feature opens the blade, and how it totally freaks people out that you basically pull an open knife from your pocket. Plus, it's sharp as hell now that I've stropped it. And it was cheap, so if the draconian MA knife laws somehow get it confiscated, I won't care. Makes me want a ZT 0630 now, though. I've also been carrying my big CRKT Carson M-16 that I got from C-bear since the double guard acts in much the same way as the wave....with a nearly 4" tanto blade that means extra freak out for the sheeple. Then I just cut some tape and fold it back up.....

Go ahead and get one, you're going to love it.

shit. that was a sharp chisel i glanced a finger upon.

well, getting cut by the very sharp is oddly worth it.

15 minutes of direct pressure and you can't hardly tell.

so, i'm going to be restoring some crap soon...

old steel, planes, and random things...

the old school thing was to wipe that stuff down with wax or what not

in some cases, i'm thinking spray on clear acrylic. if i can get the base metal super clean, that should keep things rust free a long long long time...

used edges would be kept cleaner, and waxed most likely

unless there is a better solution these days? i know there are some great wipe on rust inhibitors (not ballistol or mineral oils), but "magical teflons and such"

thoughts? i'm probably going to get some rem oil rags and/or silicone gun rags

i'm also thinking "gun socks" for some big tools/etc that might then get stored in nice boxes. long term stuff.

i also see "tray liners" that have anti-rust properties?

Is that where that sucker got off to! I couldn't remember for the life of me! How you liking it?

That bottle of Crown is teasing me.

Had to go back into the office today to be seen, have more than the usual amount of swelling for day 4 post op and thought it was infected.... Turns out its not infected... But one of the stitches in the top row ripped out and that caused the extra irritation. Fun fun.

I actually had just checked it out and set it aside after you sent it....then a couple months ago I was going through my folder collection and thought I'd clean it up and maybe try a scale replacement. After I disassembled and lubed it, I got to playing with it and decided I'd carry it a bit. It's a really fun, big folder....and it looks pretty badass. Since I discovered that I could use that big guard to open it wave style, I've put it into the rotation. Still might pimp it as I did receive some orange and black G10, but that might wait for a bit. So yeah, despite my initial impression, I'm digging it.

Tell the doc you had to drink it cause alcohol is an anti-septic and you were just trying to keep your mouth clean.

If you get it changed up make sure you post up some pictures of it, I'd love to see the G10!

Uh, you did check out where Fairbanks is located and it's winter weather? from wikipedia....

Fairbanks is the largest city in the Interior region of Alaska, ..... ---Location "OK", I guess.

Fairbanks is commonly known as America's coldest city. uh - uh, not this Texan!!!

Average winter low temperatures range from −15 to −25 °F (−26 to −32 °C), but extremes can range from −60 to −75 °F (−51 to −59 °C). ---- And not only NO, but HELL NO.:eek::eek:

I guess the upside is that there can't be too many planes every day. Probably only a 2 hour work day because the other 22 are spent thawing out. :D
