Our blind cat has been spending more time outside in the yard, how she gets around I have no clue. She has been trying for a month to catch a robin, however being that she has no eyes and we had her declawed because every time she jumped she had her claws out because she cant see. Yesterday she killed a robin, how in the world she did it being blind and no claws I dont know, but she seemed very proud of herself.

Jules the cat with no eyes and radar lol

Thats an awesome cat Psyop!!

Going camping tomorrow until Monday. Cant come soon enough. Renting a canoe for a few hours one of those days as well. Hope Neko does OK on the boat LOL.

Ill only be taking my Yuma, Chopweiler, and the Giedymin chopper this time. My wife is bringing my BK24 setup and scrapyard MUK for her to use.

After this trip the Yuma will be getting some kydex for sure. Any kydex benders have a Yuma?

The Giedymin still needs a sheath as well. But its so big even with a nice kydex sheath it probably wouldnt stay on my person much. Its more of a strap to bag kind of knife. Still ill get it a sheath eventually. A baldric rig would be nice.

That's one cool cat

Push button start seems like a novelty that would lose its usefulness fast.

I'll say this much, I knew a few people that had remote start installed in their cars up north, and they loved it. Nothing like pointing the doohickey out the window, pushing a button and letting the car warm up/cool down while you're still cozy inside, when it's either -20F in the middle of winter or 90+ in the dog days of summer...

Now if a person had underground heaters that kept the driveway from icing over, that would really be awesome. No one in my family/friends could afford that, though.

If you use a knife as a screwdriver you WILL break it.

And oddly enough, if you use a screwdriver as a knife, it doesn't cut worth a damn. Weird how that works, eh?

I'm reminded of a maker I met at the Guild show a few years back. I commented on how nice his filework on the spine was, and he grumpily replied, "Yeah, I put that on there so when you look down, you'll remember it's not a f*$%@#g screwdriver..." :D

Hong Kong spelling error I found on fleabay...

nice job lol

I had remote start installed on my car when i lived in Texas. I loved it. Never had any issues with it and its always nice walking up to a car thats already cool or warm. I didnt go to get remote start though. At the time i was in the Army and lived off post and 2 guys i knew had their cars stolen so i went to get a good Alarm system. As i had a couple grand just in the audio system plus a couple TVs, and nice rims. The alarm i got was awesome though. Came with a pager that let me know when the alarm went off and if it was the door, trunk, window or what.

Here was my Chevy Malibu before i totaled it doing a little over 100mph. I loved this damn car. These pictures were taken around 2005-2006

Single DD setup, went through 5 boxes before we really got the performance we were aiming for. Its a huge box with a lot of port area for one sub, but man did it sing in that box. 1 sub and 1 small amp kept me in a lower competition class

Wasnt my loudest system by any means but one of the best sounding for sure. I did this on a legal SPL meter from the rear view mirror with just 1 12" sub and less than 1000 watts RMS. Loudest i ever got was 156db with 3 15"s, 4 amps, 3 batteries, and a high output alternator. Subs were packed in the extended cab area of a chevy S10. That was ridiculous. Didnt sound great, just got loud. This sounded great. Car had dynamat from the front to the back in several layers in some areas to prevent rattling and keep the sound clean.

Huh? :D

I understand people love to push envelopes, but after a few years playing with amps and cabs and whatnot, my serious opinion is that anything approaching 100dB is not just a waste of time, it's actually pretty stupid. Especially in a space that small. Chasing it sells a lot of gear, though...

Yeah its not great on the ears or the wallet.

I got into car audio with my very first car in the first couple weeks of owning a car. I was only going to get a CD player but by the time i left the guys shop i had an appointment to come back and get 4 12" subs put in, the same 4 the owner had in his car.. He was a good salesman LMAO..... But I had to work SO MUCH overtime to make that happen. That was my first system, and it didnt take long to win a couple local sound offs and after that i was hooked. I ended up helping the owner of that shop build boxes and do installs on the weekends and he taught me quite a bit and gave me great deals for helping him. I went through so much damn gear. Now that was an expensive hobby. Im almost glad i dont drive a car anymore.

That's seriously bad ass! I think she deserves a small robin claw puppet for her collar.

Never understood why people want their system that loud. I can see why some go for sound quality but sheer stupid volume and thundering base, I don't get it.

I bought this car a few years ago as temporary transportation while I was waiting for the insurance company to settle up. 1974 Pontiac Catalina, a dealership had taken it in on trade and I paid $560 out the door with licencing and fees. Had a 12" sub in the trunk, jensen cd player and 4 infinity speakers. Pulled the sub out right off the bat and sold it for $100. Drove the car around for a couple months and when I was ready to sell I pulled the cd player and speakers and sold those for another $100 and the car for $500. If I had to do it over again, I probably would have kept that car. I loved that car, ran like a top and was in amazing shape.

Four day weekend!
They should be mandatory...

Tried Newcastle for the first time last night. Not bad.
Kinda reminds me of Shiner Boch.

My cousin used to have a shop that installed audio in cars. He had a display cabinet for people that didn't believe the power of the subs where he would shatter a glass before their eyes. It was pretty cool to watch. He used to also do decibel racing and had 10x 15" subs in the back of his 1992 Geo Metro Hatchback with 10x 2500 2-channel amps where the back seat was.

Hatchbacks are common in SPL comps. I almost bought an old used one just for that purpose. We were going to make it a full on DB drag car. It didnt even run LOL but there is great acoustics in those little cars. I never shattered any glass but once in a drive thru car wash where you park the car and wash it yourself, i made a couple of the light bulbs above us bust when i had the S10. But im pretty sure that was because the bulbs were not screwed in tight or something.

I havent been into car audio in years but i started off big using a bunch of speakers and amps trying to reach new SPL DB levels but after a little time i went more for SQ but still keeping good SPL.. Thats when it gets expensive. You can get big subs for 100 bucks and even if they get loud they will sound like crap. As you see my last setup was a single 12" sub pushing over 140db in pure sound pressure with just 1 amp at 1 ohm. But that 1 sub still cost around 600+ bucks today and that was from 8-9 years ago. And that was for the 35 series or mid level series. Top of the line for them runs 1000-3000 per sub. You get what you pay for though. And back when i was into it DD was hard to beat. I probably spent more on the wiring, the electrical system, and the soundproofing than i did the amp and sub anyways. Picking the subs and amps is the easy part. Hell we spent months just testing new boxes trying to get the perfect performance.

Wow its been YEARS since i even thought about any of this stuff.

I dont think im missing anything though HAHA

So how about that BK24, Holds a good edge doesnt it? :D

Just hit the hotel we are in for the weekend. We have a graduation here on Sunday, so we figured we would make a long weekend out of it. We ended up checking out the Red River Zoo in Fargo, which actually turned out kinda fun. They have all kinds of odd species from Russian squirrels to Chinese Yak like giant goats to some crazy Asian birds. There were some normal things like peacocks, wolves, deer, goats, and cows too. Oddly enough, I enjoyed playing with the goats the most. The little baby ones loved headbutting our fists. We got to hear the wolves howling too, which was pretty awesome to hear in person.

I rattled quarter panels and the trunk latch off my 79 firebird WW ..lol The trunk on that car was damn near built to be a sub box. The one thing I loved about having that kind of base, was there is a db base frequency that actually stimulates ladyparts ..lol.
I used to have lots of fun.
