Wow, I take a couple of days of to work in the shop and you guys are already 13 pages in a new snark. Hadn't had time to read it all but it looks like I'm missin quite a party......... aside from that, gotta "whatcha think" question for you all. Besides the sheath and bone beaded lanyard I finished up a little hawk for Blade show today. I was really excited about the peice of wood I cut out for it. Turns out it does have awesome grain in on part but next to none in the bolster area. Dont know how I feel about it. Do I cut it off and try another piece? Just strikes me wrong.

That looks pretty hawking good.

I will have to ditto the previous statements!

So today we had an interesting meeting with our financial adviser (on Mothers day of all things). I ended up giving him more business. Then we went over to my in laws where my kids played in the backyard and I spent all afternoon shirtless in 80 degrees carving a wooden sword for my son and a kitchen spoon for my wife. Sorry I am lacking in pictures... just so you know it took me about 15 min to write these three sentences because I am hanging on to the end of the world drunk and half passing out while I type. Thank god for spell check and auto correct haha. After sitting in the sun all afternoon carving I decided after 6 weeks of not drinking to drink a tall glass of over proof rum and coke 50/50 mix. It went great with the giant steak (I think I bbq'd for the family but I'm not 100% on that....will inquire tomorrow).

I also called my mom and let my kids talk for 90% of the phone call! seems like more of a father's day to me. Thank god the wife is knocked up so she could DD me home!

Bummer about your rain.... It was sunny here. I did all of my activities today from a hammock. It was awesome.

I'm feeling sleepy. I don't think I was supposed to mix antibiotics and alcohol.

Thanks guys, I will refrain from cutting the handles off at this time, maybe it will grow on me.

Wish it would rain here, we're in a massive drought

We had one of those a few years ago. Damn storm would head right for us, then break up as it entered the Mississippi River valley. Earth was cracking big time, and the grass was completely brown. I think I mowed twice at the first of the year, and that was it. Worst I'd ever seen.

I remember taking these photos the year of the drought. You can see how dead the grass was:

Close to my old stomping grounds!

Where'd that be at? I've lived in this area my entire life save for two years I was away at college being an idiot. I guess I'm one of those people that never want to live elsewhere but would love to visit everywhere. Indiana will always have a huge supporter here.

I'm from the Corydon area. Went to school in Evansville and moved back with intentions to stay. ALMOST bought a house in Corydon, but when the little lady landed a good job up here in the city before her school was completed that changed plans a bit.... Sooooo, I moved up here and luckily found a better job for myself in the process. I really miss S. Indiana though.

I live in Charlestown right now. Hopefully moving to New Albany. Basically Louisville but Indiana is superior in my heart. Beautiful country up there in Seymour.

Yeah, livin in Seymour, New Albany isnt rare to us. We go to Clarksville all the time to the Bass pro shop and Hooters of coarse. Were just about 50 mins down the road.

Corydon is beautiful too. Love the ole capitol. The longer you're away from here the more you miss it.

And TM that's awesome it's a small world after all. I buy a lot of my gear that isn't knives from Bass Pro.

I'll shut up about southern IN now. I just have a lot of love for this large little area of the state.

Oh man.... I don't know about you Todd, but I suddenly want some New Albanian brew. Maybe Wee Foot, Nut Brown Ale or even some Hoptimus. Maybe the new guy could hook us up. :D
