looks nice CF!

guess I could go all out and get a Claymore. I wonder what a full size sword would cost? a real one. I'm betting at least 3 grand

dragonsbreathforge.com....

yeah, he had a gorgeous hand-finished subtle damascus cutlass at the show for $2k, but it's the level of finish you pay for.
You definitely need one. And then you need to make a video, so I can watch the mayhem.

OK. I went there. I need to NEVER again go there. That site could really cost me.

It's a good thing I don't have to worry about puttin kids thru college.

heehee:

"Put simply, straight swords and curved swords are intended for very different purposes: straight swords thrust and chop, while curved swords cut or slice. Here is a great visual and visceral example of the difference. Take a piece of meat (or a mushroom for the vegetarians among you) and place it on your favorite cutting board. Now take your sharpest, non-serrated knife and approach your victim with malicious intent"

Something else I learned from Matt's website: apparently there is a Pirate Magazine.
There's a trade rag for everything, I tell ya.

What a difference Danish oil makes: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ish-Oil-On-Dry-Scales?p=11078924#post11078924

just sayin' :)

Those are gorgeous Dub. Dammit man, I just hit order for a Nessie.
Thanks, and thanks for telling me about Danish oil. You're gonna love that nessie. I was thinking of doing something with the blade. That's supposed to be a blasted finish, but it looks more like a coating to me. Maybe not...

Apparently, we're going to need an Off-Topic Off-Topic thread.
Haha. :D

Looks like the next super steel is on the horizon. I'd venture to guess it won't be long before we see "PM-V11" technology showing up in knives. Here is an interesting link.

I wonder how it would take lateral stress?

Nice blades Duhbz....looking at the nessie as my next Condor...
Thanks brother. I couldn't believe the difference it made. If you click on the link I posted above, the second "after" photo is more realistic of what it looks like. The first after photo makes it look a little more reddish.
