The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

These knives are so addictive, if I had the money I'd have bought so many more in the last 2 months...I'd have like 8 others lol...grown up responsibilities suck...Lol

I'd like to be able to preorder everything I want. Not gonna happen. I'll have to poach most of them from Monday sales. I've got a 2.7 and 4.7 coming, but would also like to add a 6, 8, and 10. Heck even the new model 4.1 and 3.5. Just put me down for one of each :D

Hey Bobby do you notice any difference in the 'grippiness' of the jade g10 vs any other g10? I pulled my gunny in g10 jade out today, and it seems like it felt tackier than some other g10s I've had.

My jade g10 feels slick compared to the canvas micarta on its brothers, and my other knives in g10 are more grippy as well.

Yea I'd love to pre order em all as well...but then I keep coming across reasonably priced old spec models, and as much as I want too buy everyone I gotta listen to grown up voice and turn the knife addict voice down...but the knife addict voice makes such a great point that you can't just go buy another one later on lol.

Thanks. I haven't tried Survive's jade yet.

Ya the secondary market is softening a bit lately. Today was a pretty good day on the exchange for GSOs.

Yea I know I really wanted that 20cv 4.1...if my Damn job would just keep the work consistent I'd be ok, but lately it's been unusually slow...May get 60 hours this week and 15 next week..so gotta hold back on the expensive knife purchases.

So I finally got the scope on the scout rifle zeroed. I can hit a 2" square piece of duct tape at 200 from the prone position. A target that small vanishes behind the crosshairs with a 2.5x scope. Standing unsupported, I can center punch a steel silhouette every shot. Prone shooting you can easily hit the 6inch square head on the steel. I am very happy with the gun/scope combo. It is a very practical hunting weapon. Next time I hit the range I will be trying 300 and 400 yard shots at the steel.

Logging some drive time this week, just towed a rig back to my boy in Nebraska. That drive through Wyoming, whoa! I thought we were through with snow for the year, I was wrong. Sure saw a lot of game, though, about 30 head of elk, maybe a hundred muledeer, and hundreds of antelope. Pretty cool. Glad to be here and getting unhooked tomorrow.

What part of WY? I've hunted the Bighorns and I'm sitting on 8 (I think) preference points for elk. I was supposed to go this fall but building my pole barn on my hunting land is keeping me here this year. I miss those mountains. Wyoming is one beautiful state.

We saw the elk just west of Laramie. The antelope were scattered everywhere. I go back and coon hunt on the Bighorn and Shoshone rivers north of here at the base of the Bighorns. I really like it there, too. Beautiful and rugged.

Okay, so we're on the way home. Weather was clear today, we saw a couple hundred head of elk, about half way between Laramie and Rawlins. You ever hunt around there Jon?

BTW that is the longest day I ever put in on the road. 14 hours behind the wheel and I'm glad it's behind me. Only about 5 hours home tomorrow, Lord willing.

Thanks man. We are home safe and sound now. I'll look up Tensleep when I get a minute.

Evening peeps. So, I'm just sitting here carving and whittling on a piece of eucalypt with my BK16, throwing the shavings onto the carpet (in my cave, not upstairs. Geez, I'm not a heathen guys) and what am I thinking about? Not how cool Becker knives are (although they are bloody cool) but how awesome your sub is here. I've noticed over some time that there is absolutely no malicious comments, no negativity, just awesome friendly banter that revolves around the SPECTACULAR knives that Guy and Ellie make. This really warms me (sorry for the sappiness). Now don't get me wrong, I love the guys I normally hang with a couple-o-doors down in the Becker sub, but this place really resonates with me. Heck, I don't even own any S! yet but by heavens I enjoy coming down to this end of the hall. Your fire's toasty, your company is crackin' and the steel is oh so delicious! Thanks for having me over folks. I promise I'll have me some wonderful Guy & Ellie-flavoured CPM soon so I won't look like some weirdo wannabe stop out. All the best peeps..

Aw shucks, thanks big guy.

We get the occasional flare ups just like hemorrhoids, but with our doctor prescribed ointment of explanations of how the company works and over the counter enthusiasm for the end product we all sit pretty comfortably for the most part.

Thanks for the kind words, there are some great guys here and the participation from Guy and Ellie is just as cool as Ethan's over in our other favorite area.

Always enjoy your posts!

My search for blades skipped over the beckers, and since I don't have any I know what you mean, I feel a little out of place posting over there. There are some great guys there, too, though, so it makes me a little regretful sometimes as it's a cool place. About the only time I post is if I'm cruising the Snark and can offer a buddy some moral support.

Having said that, post up in here any time man! I get a kick out of your take on things :)

I really value Guy and Ellie's presence here. Especially Ellie as she's more active on this end of the internet. I love it when Guy posts, too, but hate that it always has to be damage control for him. I like just hearing his take on things, and I enjoy his straight forward talk about what he's created and the thought process involved to get it as he wanted it. I hope they continue rolling with the punches, and let most of the criticism slide off their back.

I think all of the regulars here are going to have to be prepared for what happens every time a new run starts shipping. We are going to see a lot of people posting up that are new to the brand, who are really excited but haven't lived through a cycle yet with all of its ups and downs. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, if you will. Once folks realize how the company works, and get that first GSO in their hands, they tend to be more forgiving, but the struggle for that first S!K can be brutal, and we're going to see posts made in the heat of the moment. I really appreciate all of those who have been there/done that and then take the time to come back here and post up after they've got their blade in their hands.

And I appreciate all of you guys, too. Heck, now I'm getting sappy ;) :D
