The Traveling Spyderco Delica. . .

Out and about today in the North East area, warmish for this time of year. Took my daughter to a job interview, fingers crossed, that was in Newfield NY which is known for it's covered bridge. So I took the opportunity to get some shots of Cam there as well.
but first some local shots;
here's a shot in my back yard

The VG10 has like a patina to it, haven't seen a finish like this;

and now near the covered bridge in Newfield NY

shot of the bridge itself first; The Newfield Covered Bridge was built in 1851-1853 at a total cost of $800

So crazy that bluey and mr brownstone went mia.

Glad to see the thread is still going. The delica is one heck of a knife!

Will post up some photos this coming weekend and I’ll be ready to send Cam along to the next person.

I’ve only stropped the blade and she’s still very sharp, not sure who put the mirror edge bevels on it?

Took Cam down to the village square here in Painted Post New York, click this link to read more about how it came to be

There is a statue of an Indian Chief there, I could not find a perch for Cam to rest on, so grabbed some near by straw and wedged that into a opening in the statue base and hung her there next to the plaque.

kind of hard to read the plaque but the link above tells about it if you are interested;

I used her sparingly, some at work, little at home, nice size but still I'm not a great fan of serrations so I would opt for a plain edge were I to get one down the road.

and with that, I have emailed the OP to see where she is off to next, waiting on a reply from him now.

Thanks again for this visit !

Thanks sir, we had to go to Elmira NY today, about 25-30 miles away, there is the Elmira College which took Mark Twain's writing study down from his farm near by and placed it on the campus as a memorial/attraction, so on our way home I decided to swing by there and get a few images of Cam visiting Mark Twain;

It sits above a small pond over looking the campus;

and I took a shot through the door window to see the inside of the study, they give visits but not today;

and a plaque noting how it all came to be;

while in town, we decided to go to the Woodlawn cemetery, as that is where Mark Twain is buried and took a few photos at his grave site as well.

coins left on the grave stone just indicates those that had come to visit, an old tradition.

This monument was damaged by some wayard person and the Mark Twain part was removed, but is now back in it's place

and that's about it, was going to go to Corning Glass Museum but, that would take all day and a separate thread! lol

Still waiting to hear who is next on the list to send Cam to....I'll be ready to mail her out on Monday.

Fascinating to see where Twain wrote so much of his best material.:cool: Thanks again for another outstanding post.:thumbsup:

Economics Teacher: Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Economics Teacher: Thank you, Simone.

Simone: No problem whatsoever.

Justin boot store is easy, I work next door, unfortunately it missed the rodeo, we went last night, though I could have used it to cut up some sausage for my son to eat, had to suffer through with my Endura. It was actually a little big for the task so I'm looking forward too trying out the delica.
