The ultimate knife movie.

Was the Harpy that Anthony Hopkins used in the movie "Hannibal" the one with the stainless steel handle or the on with the Zytel handles?

Thought the FRN version is called Merlin
I believe it's SS... I couldn't remember exactly but it looked quite shiny.

I like horror movies and that is one of the best. Clive Barker is a great storyteller. And there's a lot of nice switchblade action. One of my favourite scenes is the one where Frank slices a rat with his knife. Yuckkk...:barf: :)

Desperado!!! just in one fight scene there was about 50 knifes being thrown around by the bounty hunter:D

After an eon of futile searching for Exposure/Grande Arte/A High Arte I finally located that film - named The Knife! I found it by looking in the Peter Coyote section of a video exchange shop.

Very enjoyable viewing indeed. Thanks all for the heads up.

Someone mentioned a while back a forth coming film with, I think, Cass Magda they'd heard about at a seminar with Dan Inosanto. Any news on this?

Kallisti.

anyone remember a "Movie of the week"

THe Trackers with Ernest Borgnine and SAMMY DAVIS JR. as bounty hunters looking for a kidnapped frontier girl ?
The knives that Borgnine and Davis carried were Coopers.

also how about the swordfights in "The Mark of Zorro " between Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone ?

Missing in Action 1... My boy Chuck uses both a Gerber Mark I and a Mark II! He uses the Mark I to kill that Vietnamese General in his bedroom and then he uses the Mark II to cut through some bamboo at the prison camp.

"Commando" with Arnie. Nice jack Crain LS1 (I bought one from him because of this movie)..and a great knife fighting scene athe the end.

Another movie.."The Abyss" had Michael Bien pull a knife from a leg sheath (he played the navy Seal). I never knew who made the knife in that scene but it sure looked like a custom number. Anyone have any ideas on who made it?

What's the other knife that was used in Hannibal?
Clarice apparently used some kind of switchblade that seems to have a tanto point to free Lector from the ropes. I couldn't tell myself cause we couldn't have switchblades here.

Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford. He uses his knives for utility, and when he makes the Indian tribe his enemy he uses them as weapons a few times. Its a great movie classic! Also the Japaninese Samuri movie Heaven and Earth (not the Vietnam war movie). Great sword fights. I actually own the knife from the movie Cobra. Its got the removable spikes on the finger guard. Movie is stupid (though I liked it when it came out, to tell the truth) Nighthawks with Stallone, and Rudger Hauer was better.

That knife in Cobra was sick...when that move came out I was a youngin and I thought it was good too!lol

One of the old John Wayne movies had a knife throwing good guy and the magnificent 7 had Lee Marvin throwing an Italian auto in a duel.

That was James Coburn...
And the John Wayne Movie was prabably El Dorado.

Predator with Arnie has some cool knives. When they raid the camp Arnie throws something big, and the scene where Billy fights the Predator (He pulls out that monster bowie.).

Toothed, a little more info. It was Tales from the Crypt, Demon Night.

The knife used to free Hannibal looked like a Microtech SOCOM to me.

SarcoBlaster, Hannibal's Harpy had a zytel handle and a plain edge.

Say, can anyone help out with the Resident Evil thread?
