The unofficial, non binding, carries no weight, 2021 forum knife possibility discussion thread

I completely agree...although I can't help but recall how things went in 2019. We offered up quite a variety of material options but ended up with one of the basics after the polls. Not that it didn't turn out wonderful, but it is hard to convince a group majority to go for a unique variation unless it is really compelling.

Like blue soup bone?

I would carry that knife EACH and EVERY day for the REST of my LIFE while wearing UNWASHED lederhosen...

I’m telling ya, try to imagine that crackly dye effect we get in the camel bone varieties. Imagine that random dye variation like we saw in the #92’s with the goldenrod, but now picture it in black.

smooth black camel bone.

I’ll even personally send glue and glitter to @Easyrider if we get it.

@Camillus

Goodness knows we wouldn’t want anything desirable or rare or highly sought after! And wouldn’t it be horrible to be swamped with TC Barlows or, God forbid, Beer Scouts?! Yes, let’s stick with a subtle variation on a handle and not too risky please.

Good grief!

I am sure Bill Howard could not care less which color dye we select.
+1; desirable and rare things are terrible!

Never having owned an 86 what's the pull like on them?

Could influence the location of the nail-nick. If it's strongly sprung why not put it forwards for ease of opening. If it's lightly sprung then Longpull will be no problem nor central nail-nick.

I’m personally not a fan of blue dye. :/ I must be honest, as always. If there are two things about the knife that I won’t like, I’d have to be out.

I don’t collect for the rarity of a knife. Just not my cup o’ tea. I buy knives that catch my eye and are beautiful in my mind.

This being said, don’t take my opinions too seriously. As this is the first BF nonbinding forum knife discussion I have been a part of, I would rather not buy one and have the majority of the porch members be happy. :)

Life is not about knives, it’s about the friendships I’ve made, if we end up with one exquisite BF 2021 Forum Knife in my eyes, I’m all in. However, if we end up with an exquisite forum knife in the eyes of others, that will put a smile on my face too.

Enjoy the ride folks, that’s why we are here. :D Happy Thursday to all!

The pull on my 86 BF knife is a little less than on my 93 Ram.
I would rate the 93 as strongly sprung, the 86 as “perfectly sprung” :)

The pull, the action, that bounce at the half stop is just perfection, it’s musical, so satisfying :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I pinch open my 86 BF and looks like this year’s knife will be a joy to pinch open as well
