Never having owned an 86 what's the pull like on them?

Could influence the location of the nail-nick. If it's strongly sprung why not put it forwards for ease of opening. If it's lightly sprung then Longpull will be no problem nor central nail-nick.

I'd say the pull on my 86 is a strong 6 or weak 7 (slightly harder than my 93 fyi, now that someone made the comparison). I definitely gotta pull but it feels really good though. If I let it rip it opens/closes with a nice stout snap. The half stop bounce is amazing tbh.

So...”old (wise) guy checkered sweater gunstock?” or just “Antique Argyle sock bone?” o_O JohnDF JohnDF

Also, thanks for the funin’. Gave me a well needed chuckle this morning. Hope it does the same for others.

Beautiful knife you have there, and good suggestion. :)

Seriously, I love the idea of a nice wood cover, ironwood, bocote and black walnut all look fabulous. I wouldn't mind a nice maple either!

The red soup bone or saw cut look great; especially appealing as I don’t have a knife with either of those covers.
I’ve always liked the contrast on the antique amber saw cut TC Barlow.

Love this pony cut bone. Great colors and superb feel in hand.

Oh boy! Can I have sequins to? I am thinking we should bedazzle the forum knife!

I really am fond of the checkered black walnut covers!
