The unofficial, non binding, carries no weight, 2021 forum knife possibility discussion thread

How do I back out if the stickied thread is now closed? Been thinking it over and regardless of how nice it looks, I still prefer stainless blades of which there is about zero chance that this will be. I've had two stainless forum knives and I'd better stick with what I'm good at. :) Far better to let someone else have the chance instead, I've got a custom SAK on the way for my birthday hopefully. :thumbsup:

I'm all for a thread talking about a forum knife for this year and I'm all for GEC building us one and I know there should be discussion about said knife. I even realize some members don't like that GEC builds awesome knives and that somehow makes them feel bad. But if you don't like how things are going bow out and shut the hell up! I'm pretty sure most of us want a tank of a big (expletive deleted) barlow with quality handles!
Sometimes when I read this thread it's like listening to my wife after I've stayed up to late drinking beer in the garage. Lay off!
Sorry mods... Delete if need be

Are we reading the same thread? Were you out too late drinking in the garage again? Most of us are on board with GEC, and the ones who aren’t have been leaving well enough alone.

Let me offer an alternative: if you don’t like what you’re reading and it falls within forum guidelines, stop reading and go somewhere else. I hear your garage is a good place.

Wars have been fought over the forum knife. Friendships ended. Brother against brother. Good people put on ignore. Trails of obscenities following would-be members out back behind the shed. Here, amidst the fire and smoke is a man screaming at the sky, “why won’t these people just behave how I want them to?!?”.

It’s all good. Doesn’t seem like there’s any actual harm being done; we’re discussing things like champs. Feelings are getting ironed out, and we’re learning how this is going to play out. There will be plenty of time for yelling at us when you rule the world, Herr Rbeggs.

I’d really like to get one this time (never signed on one, but had few) and I don’t really mind waiting for it and seeing it materialize. It’s like savouring it. Maybe I could now avoid buying some knives for a while and then finally get the forum knife and it would feel even sweeter!

I changed my mind.

You have to admit that talking about narwhals and glitter is better than some of the infighting this thread has seen.
I am starting to think that we should go with sequins or small brass studs instead of glitter. They will give added traction while using the forum knife. 🤩🤩🤩🤩

The drivel comment wasn't aimed specifically at you Easyrider Easyrider :) Honestly, we've had a lot worse! :D :thumbsup:

I didnt know that...but Prithee ! wtf is a wellness facilty? a cup of Conquistador instant coffee dust...a few knifeworld magazines scattered on a laminex table and a jigsaw puzxle with half the pirces missing.
No jigsaw puzzles, just a box of random springs, pins, liners, blades, and handles. See if you can assemble them all without any pieces left over!

That would make for an interesting forum knife. A kit. Without instructions :D
I'm in :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Edit: Forgot to add that I've taken apart enough carburetors to know that there's always extra parts (that you don't need) left over ;)
