Fixed blade "Bird & Trout" by whoever (or is it whomever) will make one for us. A Buck 102 would be nice perhaps with elk handles, or any wood handle.

Any Schatt & Morgan by this new crew should be shipped in a Barf Bag instead of a box.

I always buy the Annual Blade Forums Knife so, the poor guy/gal that takes on this project has a tip of the hat from me and this year, I'll do my best to be amicable and not be a nag.

Carry on!!!

If we ask GEC to do our BF "club" knife they might be amenable??!!
The 2019 Barehead Sailor's Rope Knife was pretty cool I thought!
What if they would do that nice big knife again, with a different blade, say . . . a wide, highly arched clip, easy to pinch??
Their grinds make good slicers, after you touch them up to your liking!
A single blade is much more reasonably priced than a double!
The handle could be Jigged, or Ebony, IMO.
Maybe they could retail them through their store, with paid reservations!!
A different marketing procedure, but the margin would go toward keeping GEC healthy! I am willing to bring this up with them!!

I would be very pleased with a knife from Albers and would have suggested it but I'm not sure Eric is ginned up for that kind of volume. It would be nice though.

NOW, this early in the process might be a good time for @ea42 to provide some input.

I don’t want to speak for Eric, but I would assume that most custom makers don’t want to make several hundred of the same knife.

I want a GEC BF knife with a whistle!!!! They are all over those gimmick knives now with combs and bottle openers. I want to see them do a whistle!

Just kidding, but seriously I wanna see a GEC with a whistle damn it!

Count me is as long as its not gimmicky or SS.

Lots of good ideas here. I’m in for a forum knife.

I like waynorth waynorth idea. I support him talking with GEC about a forum knife.

I like the idea of knifeswapper knifeswapper talking to Maniago makers about a forum knife. What about an Italian version of a camp knife?

I also like the idea of an Albers cutlery forum knife.

I would fully support an Sheffield made knife or even a French knife like Laguiole.

I’m looking for a traditional pocket folder that’s more unique or a less seen pattern for our forum knife.

Hmmmm - maybe whoever/whomever shepherds the 2021 BF knife could ship them in fruit baskets with a whistle.
That would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the prototype

I would love to see a forum knife done this year. But two things. First, my 90 day production times out of Maniago have become 7+ months. I have 4 projects going (2 left over from last year) between 3 companies and am not keen on taking on another one. Finally, my business has fallen off a cliff and I am spending a good bit of my time trying to pay the bills by other means. Between those, leukemia treatments for one kid, and trying to hound the other (junior in high school) to work on respectable ACT scores - I am generally covered up. So if it is at all possible for me to bow out this year without ill feelings - I would appreciate it. If things clear up and I can be of any assistance - I will be the first to jump in.

Mike, no ill feelings from me if you need to bow out this year. Maybe waynorth waynorth can persuade GEC to do our forum knife this year.

I would prefer gec or albers this year since we had a maniago knife last year. I was hoping the maniago route would be a surefire option if nothing else worked out. Too bad it isnt the case, mike has much more important things to focus on.

Eric albers would seemingly have to get started pretty quickly and it wouldnt allow him time for his other projects. He does have some fixed blades he is working on, maybe those he can produce significantly faster. But still, doesnt seem likely.

I guess we will be relying on waynorth to use his clout with gec to get this done.
