The Walking Dead Season 3 Thread...

when every house has a person or several persons in it, and you don't know if there still in there, every single house becomes a threat to your life. In this zombie world it's a little 'safer' feeling because they are releatively slow zombies - but consider the amount of force it takes to rend flesh with your teeth - these zombies are as strong as people who don't know better than to avoid hurting themselves. Now consider if you were in 28 days later z-land. Every person is raging out on PCP, can't feel pain and they aren't trying to eat you - they just want to see you dead. Eating you is just an aspect of the agression. Now every house is a *serious* threat to your life, where your speed of aiming, accuracy and reaction times are pushed to the absolute limit in every single encounter, in every single house, in every single store, in every single street corner.

Just because supplies are available doesn't mean they're easy or safe to get to. Likewise consider how much ammo will be spent needlessly in beginning. Those who have guns are liable to use them. Those who use guns incorrectly will use them until they're out of ammo, and then it's less useful than a machete. Those who use them correctly will use them until they're out of ammo but have a high body count - which doesn't really help you in the ammo department.

Ok, since we're formulating the rules for fighting zombies, let me refer you to a little cult classic called "Zombieland."

If the folks in TWD paid more attention to these, they might be more successful in their plight for humanity.. here are the first eight, you can find the rest with your favorite search engine...

1. Cardio
2. The Double Tap
3. Beware of Bathrooms
4. Wear Seat Belts
5. No Attachments
6. The “Skillet”
7. Travel Light
8. Get a Kick Ass Partner
...

I think, with the possible exception fo the "Skillet," you will find most of these have been of value in TWD ;-)

4. Wear Seat Belts

OK, seriously though, no one finds the following weird or inconsistent at all?

I don't really understand the deal with that one that went to town on Lori's body. Two zombies could not finish T-Dog's body, but one zombie did to Lori's? What about all the bones--I've never seen any other corpse whose bones were also eaten. And how did her whole body fit inside that belly? I also don't think a zombie would be so picky and meticulous so as to find and discard a bullet from inside a body, either.

I think Carl did NOT shoot her and the bloated walker didn't eat her. I bet she is now walking around the prison looking for a meal....

ok, so i think you proved that "wear seat belts" is a good rule ;-)

That being said, maybe he's an anorexic zombie, or maybe bullemic... binge and purge and all that.

Maybe zombies are into watching their waist lines? Maybe he ate Lori, puked her up elsewhere, wandered back, and took a few last bites? Maybe, the big prego tummy was really just that he used to be a redneck trucker from Des Moines, and he wasn't really the zombie that ate Lori? Do zombies really sit around after a good meal, and let the tryptophan mellow them out while there watching zombie football? I dunno, the whole zombie apocalypse thing is new to me.

Just give me a damn Busse, a saiga-12, and a few 1911s and point me to maggot infested walking abominations!

Or, well, whatever.

True, didn't think of that :p I approached it from a some-people-just-can't-be-helped point of view. Lori was way beyond that.

Well, cricketdave already pretty much confirmed that that zombie ate Lori, as inconsistent as the clues may be with the rest of the feedings and zombie behavior in the show.

Another thing that almost absolutely confirms it is the phone ringing. Those who have read the comics know.

I think that show needs a few 1311's

Does anyone else here thing the 1311 might be the perfect zombie killer? Short enough for confined spaces, long enough to remove a head cleanly, and light enough not to weigh down your tac

I absolutely agree with this. Only thing I recommend is having 2 x 1311's :)

I'm starting to worry Lori may be alive...crawled off somewhere and is getting nursed back to health by Carol. A sad thought I know...I hoped we were done with her.

Great scenes with the sword play in this episode!

She is dead. It was confirmed. She was eaten.

Your eyes are bigger than your stomach, how possible is it to eat 1 full size human bones and all? I am a skeptic. :) I liked Lori...I like the theory that Carol is taking care of her, true or not..it is a nice thought!

Interesting...you liked it and I cringed! I thought it was high time she got 'et! ;) :)

While it sounds like Lori is gone, the only thing that would make it better for me would be getting to watch Zombie Lori die. Seeing her die once just wasn't enough. She deserved so much more. Maybe Rick will find Zombie Lori walking around holding a picture of Shane and he can lose his mind all over again.

You liked Lori? She was the epitome of the hardheaded female that was wrong about EVERYTHING!! She would demand something be done and if it wasn't she threw a fit. On that same token, if it was done as she asked, she still threw a fit. She got pissed about stupid crap at the wrong times (like when danger was near), she had no concept of logic and she cheated on her dead husband who wasn't even dead. Good riddance zombie food!! :)

I want to see a love triangle between Daryl, Maggie and Glenn now. She rode on Daryl's motorcycle, the bad girl is coming out now. Even better if Glenn and Daryl find love in each other and cast Maggie aside. Okay, now I am just making s___ up :)

If Daryl decides he wants Maggie I do not think there is much Glenn can do about it. How Glenn has survived this long amazes me. I thought Rick was gonna take him out with that ax.

Even though I know it was mentioned that the show's creator said Lori was eaten, I think the above scenario sounds likely, mainly because it's going to be impossible to consistenly find formula to feed the baby and something tells me it won't be killed off (it's a BABY!). Plus it just adds up since Carol is still missing and they don't really seem to be looking for her too hard. Add in that Hershel taught Carol how to deliver the baby and likely how to fix up Lori afterward and it makes sense. But who knows, this show can throw some curve balls.

They have already shot children zombies in the head, so I don't necessarily think the baby is safe. Political correctness has been out the door since the first few minutes of the very first episode. This is one of the reasons I actually like this show.

On a sick note, would the baby be considered veal to zombies? :)
