The "Whatever" Thread

Well its official! I have looked through all 57 pages of the picture thread.

And I have to say, out of all the handle materials, I always lean toward the brighter colored Bocote and Ironwoods.

Its just something about the contrast between the light and dark lines of the wood that intrigue me.

I hear you. I remember looking through that thread not to long ago. I figured I would narrow my options down on my order I had previously placed. Wrong. By the time I was done I had so many different ideas floating around in my head. I ended up settling on bloodwood since I don't ha e anything like it.

Finally got The Boss the new Jeep she wanted. (funny thing, back in 1976 I bought a brand new yellow CJ-5 for $3400!)

Its crazy how cheap vehicles were back then.
My grandpa has a '63 Corvette hardtop convertible that he bought to take to college.
He paid around $3000 for it also.

Being the tight wad he is, that car still has 72,000 miles on it and is completely original; other than the tires of course.
It still has an LSU sticker on the back glass!

No telling what that car is worth now!

Just waved to Obama. That was fun. He drove past our work so we all stood out there for 45 minutes waiting. I've never seen a presidential entourage before so that was pretty badass. Not gonna lie. haha

Just heard on the radio there is going to be road blocks during the day and night in our Parish this weekend.

Gonna be a bunch a drunk driving fools out there going to jail I reckon.

I sat in stopped traffic in Philadelphia while the Presidential motorcade passed through. I saw it but was puzzled as to how one could be president, drive through that section of town and not say "WTF happened here!??!? Someone needs to do something about this!!!!"

I know I've talked about a new interest in motorcycles, but don't think I've shared a photo with my JK buddies.

Got it last week. Found a dealer with a new old stock 2013, so I got a pretty good price on it. These things are fun.:D

My nemesis! :grumpy:

:p

Nice one Cooper! Be careful I still sometimes limp from an accident 40 years ago.

The last bike I laid down was a KLR650.

Enjoy Cooper! Be safe but enjoy.

Thanks guys! I've had quite a bit of fun with it so far.

Todd, don't hold your breath on that one. :p

Although I will be picking up an armored jacket and pants soon enough.

Made a sweet trade yesterday. My neighbor belongs to several outdoor groups, and attends their dinners and fundraising raffles. He won a Taurus Model 85 all steel .38. He asked if I was interested in buying it, or trading for something. I had a 28" Remington 870 barrel, with 3 choke tubes sitting new in my safe since 1994 (I keep a short barrel on my 870) so I offered him that, and he accepted! I shot the .38 yesterday, and am pleased with it.

Sounds like you made a great trade!

Seems like a good trade to me. You've traded something you haven't used in decades for a nice handgun that you've already taken to the range and enjoyed. My dad carries an ultralite Taurus 85 daily. He and I have shot it extensively and found it to be incredibly accurate, more accurate than my S&W 642.
