The "Whatever" Thread

Made a sweet trade yesterday. My neighbor belongs to several outdoor groups, and attends their dinners and fundraising raffles. He won a Taurus Model 85 all steel .38. He asked if I was interested in buying it, or trading for something. I had a 28" Remington 870 barrel, with 3 choke tubes sitting new in my safe since 1994 (I keep a short barrel on my 870) so I offered him that, and he accepted! I shot the .38 yesterday, and am pleased with it.
Definitely a good trade!

that's an awesome trade John - congrats!
and Cooper -- congrats again on the bike, it looks good and I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it.

Started heat treating at 3 this morning, nice and peaceful with the rain hitting the shop roof. Hayley is coming over at 9 to spend a few hours hanging out with me while Becky takes Hanna to clinic for her monthly checkup.

Hey Cooper! That bike looks like fun, my bro has the same bike, just 20 years older! Love them THUMPERS! He brings it down to Deer Camp. Great for deer carcass moving! One of the things to buy on my "When I win the BIG LOTTO list", is a BSA 441 Victor thumper. If I ever get one I'll come down and we can race!

Anybody else not receiving emails when a new post is posted? Mine has been like that since the forums went down yesterday.

Make sure that it didn't turn your notifications off yesterday. It should be under settings. On the left side you'll see "My Account" and choose general settings on that. Under Messaging & Notifications, there is a drop down to set if you automatically subscribe or not. Most people it is off by default.

you can also try to go up (top-right) to Thread Tools and Subscribe to this Thread, and make sure it is set to receive email notifications.

Other people have been having problems with it as well for me my ability to PM went down.

ohhh, is that what was going on? i tried to send a dude a PM like 3 times last night and it kept giving me a 404 error. makes sense now.

Taking a break at work and reflecting on our July 4th family camping trip. The weather was very uncooperative with heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms. The new large EZ-Up was a nice convenience till the rain and wind destroyed it. I stopped thinking about the tooth I chipped eating dinner Saturday when an hour later my son and I got into a yellow jacket nest. Things could have been worse, my son had a great time, and I can't wait to do it again.

Nice bike, Cooper!

best

Thanks, Andy. When you get one, we will have to tear up some gravel.:D

Had to google the BSA. That's a sweet looking bike, I hope you end up with one soon. I don't know about racing, though.:D

So...I made sure my CU-3.5 was sharp today by slicing my finger open >.< I guess it's officially my knife haha.

Nothing starts a good patina going on steel like ones own blood! My first Cub Scout knife was very heavily "patina-ed"
