The "Whatever" Thread

Work is so boring today that I'm responding to the Nigerian money scam emails. "We have deposited $2.5million to UPS department delivery for you" lol

Opening weekend of Renaissance Faire! Got a hotel room in Gurnee for tonight and tomorrow night, All my swords and garb is packed. Ready to Nerd out for the weekend.

Have fun! I don't know what The Boss has planned for the weekend. Becky, Jonny, and the girls left for Kentucky at 3am this morning to spend the weekend at her dad's summer home on some lake, so it will probably be kind of quiet around here.

My wife is working this weekend, 7am-7pm bith days. So, it's just me and the young'ens. We'll stay busy with swimming lessons and a friend's b-day party Saturday, but Sunday will just be us hanging out.

Anybody have any fun plans for the weekend?
We're going to see if we can make it three weekends in a row of camping in the rain:eek: On the bright side we are going to meet my son for lunch Sunday. I'm very happy that he ended up so close to home after graduation.

Ill be changing oil in the truck and mowing grass tomorrow.
Yesterday I mowed some and found a big patch of grass where a hog had wallowed and created a mud hole.
My uncle has a huge live trap that I may set and see if can catch the sucker!
Wild hogs are starting to get bad around my area.

Then Sunday hopefuly I can take a nice dip in the swimming pool and knock back a few cold brews.

I have to work tomorrow, too - and am on salary, so no additional pay for the time.

I had a date today, don't get excited, it was a court date... thankfully everything worked out just fine and in my favor.

Tomorrow is my daughters first birthday party, today is her actual birth date.

Sunday, Who Knows...

Today sucked...well it started mid day yesterday when employees of mine didn't show up for work. They found the two of them in one's SUV upside down in a river dead. They rolled off a 300 foot cliff into the river. Young men.

Fired another employee today

And I am now the boss of a friend and had to reprimand them for behavior.

And to think I became a forester and wildlife biologist to be in the woods...then you think you need more money so you promote...every promotion takes you further away from what you originally worked for.

You're not alone. I get called on to work Saturdays or travel on weekends quite a bit.

yeah - my promotion last year resulted in a net pay cut.

Again, I'm right there with ya. I have a habit of accepting promotions/moves/transfers that result in less pay, "doing more with less" or working harder or longer for less money.

If your boss or customers don't tell you thanks for bustin' your hump, let me. Thanks for giving up your Saturday and for doing what you do.

I managed to get most of the day in the shop, got quite a bit done on some projects.

Bummer - my condolences....

You are right about promoting out of what you started out to do - the money is in managing the business, not doing it.

Went to the Farmers Market this morning and bought the best strawberry rhubarb pie I ever tasted!

I really miss having a farmers market I actually trust going to. I used to live about a half mile from one when I lived in Michigan that always had fresh honey, awesome baked goods, and even a few crafts that were pretty cool.
