The "Whatever" Thread

We have one here but they call it a French Market and the vendors price their wears as if they were the last ones on the planet. I'm all for paying a little more for fresh vegetables but $5/lb for tomatos is a bit steep.

All the towns here have them, and all are reasonable. One town calls it a Fresh Air Market, one a French Market, one a Farmers Market, and one a Downtown Market. I paid $6 for the pie, and $4 for a bakers dozen made on the spot cinnamon sugar donuts.

They have a Farmer's Market in East Peoria every week - I have to get there to check it out.

We have been getting our own tomatoes for three weeks now - nothing like home grown tomatoes!

Our farmer's market around us is mediocre at best. But that being said,

got to have quite the enjoyable time at opening weekend of our Renaissance Faire out here:

Hope everyone had a decent weekend!

Our Ren Faire starts in October, one of the largest in the country. We go every year, they have a camping ground so trying to set up us camping out and going both days over the weekend this year.

I definitely want to hit up the TX ren fest at some point in my life. I hear it's pretty amazing! Texas is also getting it's first "Adult Themed Renaissance Faire" in January.

Hey guys, had a bad experience in the knife world the last few days, I think I am going to take a break from the forums for a few days maybe weeks. See y'all around

damn... Sorry to hear it man. Stay on this side with us, it's harder to drown in the shallow end of the pool.

Hope you get back to your old self soon.

Thanks guys, I think things are going to get better, In fact I just might win a nice knife in John's auction

Got a pretty good weekend ahead us.
Me and the missus are taking a trip down to New Orleans for a concert Sat night.

Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Bros. are playing together.
Its a mix of bluegrass and folk music.

We're leaving a bit early tom morning to see all the confederate monuments before the city tears them down.
Theres also a Civil War museum we're going to check out along the way.

Its weird how you can be uninterested in something until its taken away.

sounds great. OCMS and Avett Bros together....good one!

Very cool heefage. I'm going to AL to see modest mouse play the sloss music festival tomorrow. The avett brothers are playing sunday night, but we are only going for saturday. I really wouldn't mind seeing old crow. I've just been getting into them lately.

Yeah, Old Crow is an experience to see them live.
This will be my first time seeing Avett Bros live.

I found with Avett Bros. about 80% of their music is ultra 'lovey-dovey' and the other 20% rocks.

Im hoping for the last 20% on stage! :p
