The "Whatever" Thread

Looking forward to Fall, hoping when Summer is over there might be more activity here. If it stays like this it's really no fun here. Seems like only 4 or 5 people post here on a regular basis anymore.

It's just community college , so he won't be moving away for two years.
That's good for grandpa:thumbup: My son and I talked it over before he started college and we agreed that he would do two years at a community college if he didn't get accepted into the Engineering program. I remember how proud and sad I was when he got his acceptance letter.

For those that were interested in seeing the 'Flat Mouth' bottle opener, heres a few pictures.
I totally forgot to take some measurements, but theres a bottle cap behind the opener for reference.
That copper wire at the top is only for decoration, it doesn't really serve a purpose, but it looks cool! :D

The guy who made it (nighthaxan) said this metal is from a 175 year old Wrought Iron cemetery fence.
Hence, the Wrought Iron Abita beer! I thought it was only proper.

Took the day off work yesterday to take the family to the KY State Fair. $100 later I came home with a box of fudge and a couple of over-tired, sugar buzzed kids. After a couple hours of fighting and finally succeeding in getting them to take naps and eat real food for dinner, I spent an hour fishing in the farm pond with my son. All in all, a great day.

Well, while you were enjoying the fair. Me and my two youngest boys were taking a trip around the Cotton field.
We found a baby logger head turtle that we saved, and released in the Crawfish pond so he could live the good life.

My daughter went back to college last week and my son leaves today. My wife and I are now "empty nesters" for the first time ever. It's exciting but I already kind of miss days like you guys had.

We have fish in our pond, but their not really worth catching. I have 32 crawfish traps that we set during the year though.
Its nice catching your own food. Especially when that food sells for $2-4 a lbs.

Looks Hot John...;)

It may seem slow here to y'all but to me it seems I've missed a lot. Busy here, I haven't checked in for a couple months. Like John, I'm looking forward to fall with hunting season and hopefully some camping.

Whelp it's been a long week and I may have to turn in the man card. My 1990 Ford Bronco finally broke down for the last time so it looks like as off today I am the owner of a 2014 Chevy Spark. I'm not exactly happy with it but it gets good gas mileage and the safety rating is awesome so looks like it's time to stop being cool and embrace the dad look. One of my coworkers joked a while back that you can't look mean when your pulling toys and sippy cups out of the drop pockets on your BDU's.

Just put the kids to bed in Disneyland Hotel. It's been a LONG day, but their excitement is a beautiful thing. Looking forward to our week on the west coast.

I gave up being cool a long time ago. I drive either a Jeep Compass or Chevy Cruze.

what is your opinion of the compass?
SWMBO is going to be in the market for a newer set of wheels as soon as we fix a couple holes in our finances.
