The "Whatever" Thread

First day of "crazy week" where Connie starts work at 2am, so we get up at 12:30 am.
 
we did Christmas today with kiddos and my girlfriend. she tells me what she wants for Christmas. just a couple days ago, i commented that she hadn't asked me what i wanted...strange. she said that i will love what she got me and that, "Best present ever." She was right.

my good buddy is a 3rd generation decoy maker of Hank Walker Decoys in Newbury, MA. My girl kibitzed with him to make me a decoy and a duck call for Christmas.

wife handed me a gift tonight - I gave it a half shake and said "what? 10 pounds of popcorn?"
she said "no, it's only 5 pounds, silly."
then she handed me a picture of the other stuff that's still on the way.
 
Nice Todd - Mitzi did good!

We went to my wife Maggie's sisters house tonight to spend some time with them and exchange gifts.

My kids and grandkids were there and we all had a great time.

I received some nice hot sauces by "kick ass" hot sauces, and a beautiful Steam Locomotive 2014 calendar which I will enjoy very much.

I also received a very cool Chicago Bears grill spatula with a bears head cutout logo in the blade.

Earlier I exchanged gifts with a good friend, I gave him some 8 year cheddar, a nice wine, a flashlight and a nice Kershaw limited edition knife from Kershawguy.

My friend gave me a Spyderco Native in CTS XHP - very nice!!

I'll exchange gifts with Maggie in the morning -

well the cookies are out the carrots thrown in the yard and one kid is officially asleep.

Kids open a few gifts on Christmas eve and they seem happy with them, iris went to bed hugging on one of them so that's a good sign. She had 3 to open but only got to the first one, she likes to give a toy a good week or so of work before even wondering about the next one :) Sam has been working very hard on his lego set since he opened it as well.

As for me Rebecca surprised me with a Case 52032 texas jack in stage, a little searching and it turns out to be born in 1984, just like me, I'd say she did very well:D

We have some friends over this year unexpectedly, house is a little cramped with all 6 of them and their dog but it does make for some good Christmas atmosphere with all the kids running around playing together. Haven't really been feeling in the mood lately but behind some of the stress i catch myself feeling very Christmasy and happy the last few days, whcih is really what i always want for Christmas.

I hope your yule logs are burning well and your drinks are spiked (My mother in laws gift was 4 bottles of something that clinks so I think she's warming up to me, or finds it easier to get along when I'm drunk, either way :)) and your families are warm , happy and safe.

The kids were over yesterday, except Alison, she will be over this afternoon. Becky and Dave got me a Cabelas gift card, and Angie and Mark got me a Barnes and Nobles card. This morning I got my 2 book set from the 1960`s from Connie.

I hope you were surprised! Pam emailed asking for suggestions, and I gave her a few, she picked the Bluegill.
 
Merry Christmas fellas!

Had our annual Christmas Eve celebration at the farm. About 25 extra people at the house made me very thankful that a cousin brought rum for the punch.:D

Relaxing with my parents and siblings before going over to my grandparents this evening.

That was a great gift - I love to hear when someones wife or girlfriend does something like that - excellent!
