The "Whatever" Thread

Friday morning about the time I had to call it quits and go to work, the freezing rain stopped.
then i worked until 11PM.
Saturday got up, fixed SWMBO breakfast and put in another 12 hours at work -- so no deer in the freezer. (OTOH, buddy of mine rented a cabin for the "second chance/late antlerless season" and SWMBO gave me permission to go play the second weekend of January - so I should be fine for meat after that)
today we had a nice day wandering around Kansas City shopping and enjoying the skies as they went from clear to cloudy to clear again -- the sunset was gorgeous, but I didn't get a picture, because I was driving.
 
Sucks about the poor luck, Erik. But the cabin sounds promising.

I think I am going to head to town in the morning and pick up an antlerless tag. First late winter season starts the day after Christmas, and I get a few days off work. Should be fun.

Today was the last day of "Muzzle Loader" season, so I went up to my neighbors to see if they had any luck. They saw 3 deer all weekend and didn't shoot at anything. Unheard of for this neck of the woods.
 
nearly killed about 3 with my truck this week, every hunter i talk to is having about the same amount of luck but they prance around our road and backyard like the season over. Go figure, good luck guys
 
yeah, season ended for me yesterday. orrr, did it?? my buddy texted me last night and asked if i might be interested to head to Ohio for a few days in January. not sure, i'll be able to, but....

Just got back from a fun filled 1hr 20 min wait at the PO. Parking lot was full, so I parked across the street at Walgreens.

I just got back too,I had to wait for one lady to finish up on the self service kiosk in the lobby & got 4 packages out in about 10 minutes.:p

The line for the clerks was out the door though,hence my using the kiosk.
 
If I'm sending flat rate boxes the easiest by far is online at home and print out a shipping label, drop in the mailbox. Only reason to go to a clerk is if you need a receipt. Tracking is included free, too.

No outside fun for me today, got a sick kid. Pick up from school, then to doctor, pharmacy and home. Cooking up turkey breast for supper with a new recipe I found online, hopefully it will be a hit with the wife and kids.
 
Final knife of the year is finished, just need to get the firesteel he is mailing me so I can mold the kydex. Spent the morning cleaning the shop, looks good. I always take my morning coffee out there, can`t smoke in the house. Might as well have a clean place to enjoy them. I won`t start any more knives until after Christmas. Tomorrow I take the car to the dealer for a recall, then Thursday I can finally start my Christmas shopping, Connie is off work, so I get the car for the day, while her and Becky go shopping.
