The "Whatever" Thread

Nice "impulse". I like those little Bersa guns. I had one for a while (gave a cousin some money for it when he was in a bind, "sold" it back to him when he got whole). It was surprisingly accurate, I suspect the fixed barrel has a lot to do with that, and very easy to shoot. Overall, I was very impressed.

Thanks, good to know. Looking forward to a range trip this weekend.

It's a great little shooter, with double-strike capability and a decocker. They are accurate too, what's not to like?

I've been promising an old coworker a range day for months now ever since he bought a Beretta ARX-100.

We've got that, a Daniel Defense AR-15, a rebuilt modernized Mosin Nagant, RIA 1911, Glock 17, Glock 42, Sig P2026, Beretta PX4, SCCY 9MM, and about 400 rounds per gun. This ones been long overdue.

1066vik informed me that way back in the day people used soapstone to make bullet molds for their old muskets.

It can withstand extreme amounts of heat and wont crack or bust like other rocks would.

Soapstone arrived today. Swmbo says that it will just have to stay where it is until I get home. It's a little too heavy for her.
Thank you, sir.

Let me know your thoughts on the SCCY, especially reliability. Becky is looking into getting one in .380.

I'm going to need a report on this one too. Reliability and accuracy. Becky is looking for a reasonably priced .380 to carry for work.

I have four different brands of ammo (including some funky bargain reloads) to try out. They're going for $309 in my neck of the woods... I couldn't resist! :)

She's trying to keep the cost below $350, so that fits right in.

That Bersa looks nice. My Dad has the Glock .380. I wasn't impressed. Seems top heavy to me.

i'm also interested in hearing the review. i am tossing around the idea of getting more serious about finding a carry gun.

It definitely isn't a pocket gun in the conventional sense but that actually makes it better in my opinion as it has reduced felt recoil due to the weight.

Yeah, I tried a pocket holster and it felt like a brick in my pants.

So the raccoon in my attic had babies. This just gets better every day.
