The "Whatever" Thread

Yep, it was pretty scary right when it happend.

I guess on the bright side is it happened in about the best possible place... He's got a Forrest Gump 'million dollar wound' now.

The lesson we ( the parents ) learned was DO NOT become to comfortable with leaving knives around. From now on, im going to treat my knives more like guns, Ill always know where every knife is located at all times.

Glad it wasn't worse than it was. Was the knife open and he sat on it, or did he open it?

Yikes thats horrible, im glad hes okay!

My daughter came into the living room one day holding a jk knife (i keep them in an old shoe horseing tool box but id laid this one kn top in a hurry) it was enought to make me change my routine with them as well, she was 3 at the time. That was enough to panic me, let alone blood dripping down a leg.

Well doen on staying calm and rational, thats some good parenting. I was virtualy demanding someome call the president to demand assistance the first time one of my kids came down sick and started to threw up, luckily my wife drove us to the doctors office. ;)

I calmed down a lot once I found where all the blood was coming from. My wife was running around cussing the whole time!

Glad to hear the little guy is ok, that would be very scary!!

You got him all taken care of very quickly, and he will have a story to tell if he can remember being three....

best

Sometimes people are a bit slow. I carry this picture in my wallet of two of my girls, Alison and Becky. When I show it to people, and they ask how old they were, I say they were 18. Then they ask if they are twins? Becky is 4' 11", and Alison is 5' 10" tall!

In the middle of mowing the grass and it starts sleeting! Sure felt like a fool riding around in it.

The weather has been stupid. I'm hoping my peas survived lol. My career change is looking good. Hopefully starting April 23rd. I'm super excited. not really a career change but a change in what I do, days off, and pay lol and it's what I want to do full time so I'm pretty excited.

sears tech came out and said "you need a new motor" - so he called it in and the warranty folks argued with him to be sure it really needed a new motor.
he had to take pictures and upload them to show there was oil in the crankcase and no obvious external damage.
I got the impression the warranty dept drives him up the wall at least as much as they have me.
new motor will be here next Friday.

How is your boy doing now that he's a couple days out from the "incident"?

Much better. He acts like it didn't even happen. He has a bruise the size of a golf ball, but the puncture wound has a good scab over it and we keep it covered with a bandage.

I think hes a little proud of the wound. He tells everybody, "A pocket knife stabbed my butt." :p

Glad to hear he's doing well.

I'm continually amazed at how fast kids heal. And, how they can bounce back from hits that would leave me limping for weeks and/or how depending on the "audience" they can fall apart over the smallest bump/scrape.

Glad to hear your boy is OK, I think I might have had a bit of panic if my girl was bleeding like that.
Here she is, just made me lunch
