The "Whatever" Thread

I`ve been trying to find a picture that I know I have of my Dad in uniform. He was a sergeant in the Army in WW II, stationed in the South Pacific.

I remember seeing the picture - Maybe it was your grandfather the policeman?

Another benefit of starting a go fund me campaign.....

mega spam!

I normally get just 3 or 4 spams a week and now am getting 20+ a day.

Thanks GFM!

Another record broken....

we've had 9 days of the first 11 in the month of November with temps above 60 degrees.

we had a nice, thick frost this morning - it sounded like it was raining for about 5 minutes once the S side of the roof warmed up.

I didn't wake up early enough to see a frost, but I do know the bucks are running down here.

Going home next week for the first firearm season, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Going to be a strange week.
Tomorrow Connie works 8-4:30 so I will heat treat the blades I ground yesterday
Monday Connie is off so I will have her hold the ladder while I put up outside lights
Tuesday Connie works 10-6:30 so I will clean up blades and get handles gluing on
Wednesday Connie works 4-12:30 so I will work on shaping handles
Thanksgiving Connie works 4-12:30 so I will drink Bloody Mary's
Friday Connie is off so we will put up our Christmas tree and decorate inside the house
Saturday Connie works 4-12:30 then in the afternoon we will go to Becky's house for our Thanksgiving and celebrate Hanna's birthday

Woke up to snow on the ground for the first time this year in Michigan. We didn't even really have a frost yet. Should help out all the hunters out there. Maybe my dad will see that 8 point that's been alluding him. My fiance and I are having our own little Thanksgiving today. Pumpkin pie made last night and we'll be making some egg nog before the cooking begins. We're just making a whole chicken and plan on making some soup with it afterwards. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

We're only getting flurries for the first time this year in SE MI. It feels great to be done with Indian Summer and have some seasonal appropriate weather!

Love the 1/16" stock knives for fire prep.

Jeff, what knife is that and how long is the blade? Looks like a really great knife, I like that micarta John uses.

I'm not sure this pattern has an official name. It was a pass around project from several years ago. The blade is 4" and the handle it 4 1/4". This one has a great feel to it and handles very nicely.

Down to a few more weeks of orders, then I'm shutting down for the year. Looking through the orders for 2016, it looks like sales were down about 35%. I'm thinking hard about how to proceed in 2017. Both this forum and my Illinois business license expire in January, I'm thinking I should renew them and cross my fingers that it gets better, I'm not ready to call it quits yet.
