The "Whatever" Thread

I didn't realize you had as many vids as you do on YT until I subscribed.

thanks myke, they were mostly made over the last week while I make the HK's. Rebecca said the one I did a long time ago about lanyards got a lot of "views" which is apparently good, and could send people towards the HK website, problem is I keep turning the camera on then rememering i don't really have much to say and "showing" all involves turning on loud tools or using hand tools that require both hands :(

I'll keep trying though, ya never know.

Been trying to record a week 9 ffl video today, keep punting it though ;)

As some of you may have noticed, sales are way down this year. Combined with orders not being paid for when completed, orders not being confirmed, and the fact my website is messed up and I can't get a reply from the host, the future of JK Handmade Knives is not looking good right now. I'm going to start 2017 with hope, but it's not looking good at this point.

John,
Keep your chin up buddy. It's incredible how slow the market is moving right now. Not just your knives but all knives etc in general.
I know you make an excellent product with materials that WORK!
Having said that would you be willing to set yourself apart a bit with some "hot" materials?
Burlap
Carbon fiber
G10
S30V

Hahaha. Sorry, I forgot you were allergic since I had one of yours in G10.

How about some knives with:
-bolsters
-tapered tangs
-hidden landyard holes

Tapered tangs are a no go with my equipment. I have done different color bolsters in the past. The biggest problem is keeping the prices low, my customers seem to like lower cost knives. I have given thought to a "premium line" at a higher cost.

BUT..."your customers" aren't buying right now. If you decide to have a "premium line" that could possible bring a new customer base in for you.
If you ever decide to try that advanced knife asked class again let me know!

I considered this one "premium." I was asking $235 for it, but ended up raffling it off because nobody was interested.

Ivory micarta, with both red and black liners, and brass pins.

I shoulda' bought that thing.

I think GrkGod has that one - or he won it anyway...

I was very close to pulling the trigger on that knife but waited too long. I did buy raffle tickets for it.
John, weren't you going to make a smaller version also?
I use that picture as a screen saver from time to time.

Oh yeah, the EDC Cammando.

Hello my name is Rich and I'm very interested in your knives. I see you posted about your website being down. I have been trying to screen shot a pic to see if you still make it. With your reputation on here I'm willing to pay up front. I'll see if I can find it on there and send you pic of it.

Also if you halve a post of finished product for sale please link me to it.

Best regards, Rich

If you know the name of the model I can probably find a picture. Nothing currently on hand, I just auctioned one off and did a raffle for another to benefit a member here.
