We have about 4" of snow here.

They are talking about snow here tonight. Hopefully I'll be north of Portland when it starts. These people can't drive in snow. They can't drive very well in the rain and it rains 300 days a year.

Hopefully the roads will be clear and dry by morning. I have to be in South Holland tomorrow morning. I'll wave as I go through Mokena ;).

I used to play golf there. There is a flock of monk parakeets that nest in a tree by the Outback steakhouse. Karen and I were shocked to see them when we walked across the freeway to the Outback in a foot of snow one time. At that time the food there was fantastic. The chef was a South African that really knew his stuff.

Ended up with about 6", the drive to work last night was a pain, coming home this morning the roads were clear.

It's only just really started being consistently cold here in ky, stioll no snow though we did have a small rain shower yesterday ;)

I remember the snow in Michigan the last time we came up to visit you, we actually got stuck there for an extra couple of days because of it, Sam didn't mind so much because we got to go into town and watch a movie , it was an adventure for him and he still talks about it. Good times ;)

No snow here but we did get a Christmas tree yesterday. We went to a farm where there were acres of well groomed trees. Any of them would have been good but my wife had an idea of what she wanted and so did my son. They finally compromised and didn't get one of the 15' ones my son wanted. He was in a good mood then till we went inside to pay and was surprised by Santa. Thomas ran out the door saying "go now, go now" and it took quite a bit of convincing to get him back inside. He worked up enough nerve to talk to Santa but would not consider sitting on his knee.

Woke up to a light dusting here, but it was mostly melted off the roads when I got done with PT at 11:00 am.

no snow, but had a freezing fog overnight that closed the main bridge into Topeka for an hour this morning while they cleared half a dozen wrecks off it.

My neighborhood on lock down, apparently 2 fugitives are on the run and police searching. My son's school bus had to return to the school, so I had to go up and get him and his friend who's parents are working. Was armed and ready but luckily did not see the bad guys.

Hope they catch them soon. I remember when I was young whenever somebody escaped from Stateville my grandfather (he was Chief of Police) would be notified. He would call my mom and she would always make us come in the house.

No pics of my son "near" Santa but here's one of the typical size tree
he wanted. It may have looked a little like the Griswold Family Christmas
Tree strapped on top of our SUV.

THEY are probably lucky they didn't see YOU! ;^) - thumbup!

fishiker - cute picture! I remember taking the kids to get trees - fun and I always looked forward to the fresh pine smell in the house. Maggie decided we can't have a tree this year since we now have two adult cats in the house....

best

We used to have a cat that would climb up the middle of the tree and peek out at us.
We have two kittens in the house. When I got home from work yesterday I noticed a can of compressed air on the bookshelf. I asked my wife what it was for and she said the cats. I didn't understand but was tired and didn't feel like a discussion. After a shower I hit the couch to spend a few minutes with my son before his bedtime. Things were normal for a Monday evening until one of the kittens started paying attention to the tree. He should have been watching my wife because he was taken totally by surprise when she hit him with a blast of air. He must have jumped 2 feet straight up before he hit the ground running. I'm not sure how to describe the "smile" my wife had but I'm pretty sure I don't want to ever see it directed at me.
