The "Whatever" Thread

We have two kittens in the house. When I got home from work yesterday I noticed a can of compressed air on the bookshelf. I asked my wife what it was for and she said the cats. I didn't understand but was tired and didn't feel like a discussion. After a shower I hit the couch to spend a few minutes with my son before his bedtime. Things were normal for a Monday evening until one of the kittens started paying attention to the tree. He should have been watching my wife because he was taken totally by surprise when she hit him with a blast of air. He must have jumped 2 feet straight up before he hit the ground running. I'm not sure how to describe the "smile" my wife had but I'm pretty sure I don't want to ever see it directed at me.

That's hilarious! We had 2 cats years back. They never seemed to get into the tree, and we tried to keep the tinsel from hanging low, as that can mess up a cat's insides pretty bad. Of course, if we had a nanny cam set up, we might have been shocked at what they did while we were gone.

We also have two cats that live outside. They are more like dogs than cats I guess. Here recently, since the weather got colder, we have another friendly companion that hangs out with the cats. IT IS A FREAKIN' POSSUM !

Its friendly as can be and I really don't want to kill it, but that sucker will scare the crap out of you at night in the dark. The cats don't care that it hangs out with them so as long as it don't cause any trouble ill let him hang around.

I looked at him real close the other day to make sure it didn't have rabies or mange or some other kind of disease. Hopefully I wont regret my kind heart in the long run.

We use to have to hang our ornaments up very high cause the cat would knock them all down and then paw at him until he ended up smashing them on the wall lol. it was pretty funny the first time we figured out how they were getting broke. then it got annoying lol

We're supposed to get 1-3" of snow tonight but rain tomorrow so it'll all be gone by the end of the day.
Yay.

Thats funny.
There was a story on the local news the other night about a squirrel stealing outdoor christmas lights.
The little bugger chews the cord right at the base to get 'em loose.
The lady said it was annoying at first, but she just laughs about it now.

We are supposed to have over 10" of snow on the ground by Monday, 5" Saturday through Sunday, and 5"-6" more on Monday.

That is harsh!

I was checking and they are saying 1 to 3" on Sunday now - it must be tracking north.

Hold on tight!

I'm kind of lucky, Connie has been starting work at 8am, I get home at 6:30-7am, so I can take the Jeep to work. At least it is 4wd.

Might be a little fun if it weren't for all the land-luges in the way!

They said we'd get 2" last Saturday and "no accumulation on the roads. They'll just be wet".

We ended up with 6" and the roads were a mess.

My WUndergrouns app (usually the best weather source I've found) on my phone has been worthless. It does nothing lately. Won't even load.

My prediction, based on the track record of the local news meteorologists, 1" to 85" with temps somewhere between -35°F and 40°F with a wind chill of "just above 0° Kelvin". :D

Just slid over a hidden parking curb and bled out all my trans fluid. Waiting on a tow. :(

One of my many responsibilities on my previous job was Emergency Response Coordinator. Prepping for Hurricane Katrina I used every resource I could locate to predict what we should expect. Looking back afterwards the NOAA forecast was the most accurate by far. Since that time it's been the only weather forecast I've used. Best of luck and stay safe.

Next three weekends will be busy, the 18th is our 29th anniversary, Christmas on the 25th, and New Years and Connie's birthday on the 1st. I really need to get out and start shopping!
