The "Whatever" Thread

Woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground this morning.
This is the first measurable snowfall around here in a few years.
It's a winter wonderland!
Sure glad I got my shopping done yesterday and don't have to deal with the craziness today.

that sounds like the makings of a relaxing football Sunday!

Ground out this weeks blades this morning. After that I took down the outside decorations before it started raining. After that I finished cleaning my guns from shooting them Saturday. Heat treat tomorrow, then to the post office to ship knives.

Sounds like a busy day.

I got to hang a new light fixture in our dining area.

Apparantly not black powder guns!
Priority when making camp
First- feed and tend the horses
Second-Collect wood
Third- clean or maintain guns

I lucked into some really good seats for the Virginia Tech - Duke basketball game Saturday. I can't remember the name of the youngster who performed the national anthem but he was an extremely talented violinist. His performance was the best I've witnessed first hand. I was impressed with how quiet and respectful everyone was during it and proud that nobody was sitting.

I always run some solvent soaked patches through them to loosen the crud up, then let it soak for a day before detail cleaning them.

Just checked, and found out I have until the 27th to renew this forum. For some reason I thought it was sooner than that, got plenty of time (just need to remember to leave money in PayPal to pay for it.)

Yay, another year in the JK playground, no running near the pool Mykel[emoji12] (not yet at least), hope everyone had a great holiday and got everything they wanted. I'm going into this year just hoping for a better one from the dumpster fire that was last year. I have a couple shooting classes and a hand t hand class scheduled for the first two months and my sons birthday is only a month and a half away, the time really does fly.

No worries Bret, I can't run. (yet)
Dumpster fire is how I feel about last year also.

I can't wait for spring and hitting some hiking trails and hopefully camping.

Yay for another year of the JK forum!!

Coyotes are back again. Found the remains of a rabbit about 20 feet from my back door this morning.

Dang! Ive haven't had the coyote problem yet. Right now, our critter problem is Possums. We have two useless cats that live outside and my only guess is they are making friends with them. At first, I tried trapping the possums but could only ever catch the cats. So, after several failed attempts I just started shooting the dang things. I didn't want to, but they keep getting in the trash and they actually hang out under my carport. Its not a fun night when you go outside and 3 possums are at your front door.

I shot them at first with a red rider bb gun. That scares them off, but within an hour they come back. Then I shot them with a powerful pellet gun. Now I can draw blood, but yet again, they come right back and just hang out.

Now im fed up. Ive shot all three with a .22 and they are dead. I hated to kill the poor things, but they just don't get the point. They are too stupid for their own good.

Huzzah, the livestock and women folk are safe for a little bit longer. Glad to hear you are doing better in all honesty.

1st Snow Day of the year! Ground isn't even covered yet, but they called it at 5am (1st flake hadn't fallen at that time) because 3-4" may accumulate by this afternoon. For some of you that wouldn't even be worthy of the meteorologist mentioning, but here it means I have to work from home while trying to referee the kids.

Snow Days sure aren't as fun as they used to be.

I smoked 2 coyotes out back a few weeks ago with my 17hmr. Dropped them quick. Hadn't had any around for several years after wiping them out when I first moved in.

We got our first measurable snowfall of the winter on the ground now. My youngest turned 3 yesterday and we had a party planned for this afternoon that we decided to postpone. A couple hours outside and he'll forget about not having a party today.
