The "Whatever" Thread

The doctor said I have a virus, which means that they don't prescribe anything, it has to run its course. I'm hoping I don't lose anymore orders if I take a few days off.

I hope you kick this soon, and it doesn't turn into anything worse

There's rumor of shutting down a couple of the local schools to try and slow the spread of whatever is going round here. Get plenty of rest and take care of yourself.

I knew the girl in this story personally. We dated for a few years in my early 20's. She was the definition of a Blonde hair Blue eyed beauty queen.
Its been over 10 years since i last seen her, but i never ever thought she would become a heroin user.
And my area is such a rural town. This problem has sunk its teeth into the very heart of America. She wasnt even 30 years old.

If anyone you know uses heroin or any kind Opiate, Please Please get them help. These drug dealers dont even know what their selling and even worse the users have no idea what their doing.

Heroin is no joke. I have been to one guys house 5 times in 2 months on overdoses. He just doesn't care. The drug is more important to him than his own life. There are so many bad batches out there right now it's basically Russian Roulette everytime they take a hit.

It's rampant in KY. It's cheaper than pills and easier to get. My wife said that Saturday EMS, out of the ER she works at, made 43 overdose related runs. 43 ODs in one day. She says they have several die every shift.

Heroin and Fentynal is widely abused in our major cities in NH. It's sad to see people, especially young people, throwing their lives away.

Unrelated, we're waiting for a bed to open up at a hospice for my dad. The hospital is basically kicking him out because he is no longer being treated. The hospice we looked at was really nice, it's quiet, and the rooms look like a room in your house. Still don't know how long it will be, he is still fighting, but hasn't really been eating or drinking anything for a week.

Sorry to hear about your dad. My grandmother had terminal cancer and the hospital said we needed to take her to hospice, what basically happened in our case they loaned a hospital bed to us, we had to set it up in her home. A nurse would come by everyday to check on her and make sure meds were ok. They had her hooked up to a machine that gave her morphine for pain. Family members had to take care of her, it was one of the roughest things ever, seeing her suffer and get worse day by day and the with the morphine she would not even know who you were. I wish there were ways to make things better for our loved ones.

I'm not really up to date on what's happening on the street but from what I understand meth seems to be the drug of choice messing up the kids in my area

"ALERT: MADISON COUNTY EMS HAS RESPONDED TO FIVE OVERDOSE CALLS IN THE LAST 1 1/2 HOURS. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A STRONGLY LACED DRUG IN THE AREA."

Madison county if the next town over from here we live, also the county here I work, and also the more prosperous county in many respects.

in Delaware this weekend for my nephews wedding. we were driving back from the reception and my gf says, "hey look....Shooters Choice..." it was an indoor gun range. well, needless to say, i had a few hours to kill. so, i drove up and indeed they rented guns, etc. got to try out a Beretta 92 (which i have heard so many good things about) and a Springfield Arms 1911 (not sure the exact model).

the beretta was a shrug. the grip was comfortable, but i didn't like it better than my SA xd-9. now, i loooved the 1911. with that said, it had trouble feeding the ammo i bought there. on almost every full magazine, the first round failed to feed. but, no big deal in a range environment. i sure did like the way it felt, and i shot it pretty good.

i may end up giving up one of my 9's for a 45 acp. this is not the first time i have found that i shoot the bigger 45's better than the 9's.

was 70 degrees and sunny down here. watched my nephew get married. and, got to the range ta boot. what a great day.

Sounds like a great weekend!
I've always been partial to the 1911. It just feels "right" in my hand, almost like JMB designed it with my hand in mind. The only thing that comes close in the ergonomics dept. is the CZ 75 family of handguns.

It's a real shame that someone would cancel their order because you aren't well and have to take care of yourself. If you are taking orders, I would like to place one this week in support of you taking your time and getting back to your feet. I have no problem waiting, and I would love to support a knife maker who knows what's important. Plus, I've been itching for a Bluegill. ;)

Shawn - "itching for a Bluegill", I think that's contagious. A Bluegill in Osage may be the only cure.
