The "Whatever" Thread

Here it is next to a CBK.

Let's liven this place up and start some new topics! As slow as it's been around here I'm wondering what's going on, it's time for some activity!

We were on vacation last week. First time my older son got to spend a full week with us since he graduated high school. The weather was good, fishing was good, food and drinks were good and getting to spend time with my family was priceless.

all I have are pics of his table.
I for one would love to see what he had. Blade show sounds like a blast. I hope I can make it there some day. Will have to convince the fiance that our next big trip after a honeymoon should be to Blade.

Quick update on myself. In January I moved to the house my fiance and I bought and changed agents with the same insurance company. I absolutely hated the new place but was determined to try my best. Well that didn't work because I got fired, but all was not lost. I was able to get a new job that was not only an improvement of my job and work environment, but had much better compensation. Funny how things work out.

Also spent the past few weeks finding my fiance a new car, which isn't easy when we are about 120 miles from where all the cars are. To top that off got my dog in to his new vet, which was a nice place. I find an auto shop I trust and a barber. Things are starting to come together and this place is beginning to feel like home.

Pics people pics!

I took some pictures at Blade - this was at the lobby of the Galleria, sometimes referred to as the Pit - taken from upstairs on the second floor balcony.
The folks at the table on the right side are the ZT fans -

Maggie and I went to the new Braves stadium since it was adjacent to our hotel -

The show was nutso-crazy this year - more people - this is showing the line for vip tickets - just to get your badge so you can get in the LONG line to get into the show....

The long line stretched all around the upper floor of the convention center, down the escalators and out into the parking lot and beyond. It was nuts.

Got to neet Bob Dozier - nice fellow - he is now making belts so we picked one up for Maggie -

My load out for Blade - including the JK Atta-Boy necker. I would think John could sell some knives and get some exposure if we could ever convince him to go to blade and get a table. People liked the little necker, and I also took DBH #3 to show around.

The Flying Biscuit that was close to the Galleria had moved a few miles further south -

The new Battery Park area around the stadium is so new many of the shops are not open, but the little HD "lifestyle" shop was open - these are where you can buy shirts and trinkets, but there are no bikes or parts for sale....touristy stuff.

hah! that's me at bottom center, talking to RKMoore. the bald guy just above me is Ross Gannon of Dry Creek Forge and he was talking to Frank Moore Gonzales who had the lightest full thickness Khuk I have ever beheld -- it had 3 wide fullers on the 12" blade and felt like it was made from titanium. I think the guy raiding TM Hunt's cooler there was Phillip from the Fiddleback booth.

Thanks for the pics Andy.
I would have freaked if I had to stand in those lines.

getting checked in and set up Thursday was wonderful -- no lines!
forgetting to eat lunch was a bit rough, but again - no lines!

Thanks for sharing;) This show is on my bucket list, but it's not in the top three so it might take a while to get there. Crazy that you got a picture of a JK member taken by a JK member!
