The "Whatever" Thread

i didn't realize pets had to pay to live somewhere. is your cat a good roommate? does it leave dishes in the sink? (ridiculous)

sorry to hear about the added expense myke.

The lease is about up for my apartment and now the f ing owners want to charge pet rent! $35 per pet, per month on top of the non refundable 400 deposit we paid when we moved in 10 years ago.
I can get out of the pet rent if I get a note from my doc saying my cat is a companion pet due to my "condition".
The doc's office says 2-3 days to get the frigging note written up.

Greedy people suck the big one!
Sorry, myke, some people just suck I guess :(

More trail pics from this mornings PT.

Notice the notched ear, he must have had a close call with the resident Red Tail or a coyote.

Is my cat a good roommate? That's debatable.
She's a spoiled, demanding little brat without the good manners to put her dish in the sink let alone wash it, but I love her anyway and would gladly pay the pet rent if I had to, but luckily I have an out so the greedy bastards won't be getting pet rent from me.:p

Maybe he's just having a bad "hare" day...

Sorry, that was bad, but I couldn't pass that up

A few more from yesterday morning.

I've been waiting for these to bloom to see what pops up and they finally have.
Bearded Iris I believe they are.
Not to be confused with the Sweet Iris cultivated by our own KYenglish.;)

I saw this Bumble Bee land and start digging in one spot so I had to see what it was doing.
It dug in under the duff a bit then turned around and stuck it's rear end in the cavity it had dug.
Laying eggs perhaps? I read they do that, but usually under something and this was right out in the open next to the path that goes by the short wall I take breaks at.

Snowing in May?

DSCN0894.jpg

Nope cottonwood seed fluff, or fuzzies as I like to call em.
The worst part of May.

Between the fuzzies, the mosquitoes and the sweating from the heat and exercise I couldn't stand to be out there for more that an hour and a half this morning.
Oh well, as soon as we get a good rain the fuzzies will be knocked down.

For those of you that have to deal with this stuff, did you know that if you burn a small pile of them it smells just like burnt popcorn?
Yeah it do.
Anyway, I hope you all have a good weekend.

I thought Sycamore trees were bad:eek:

I just got back from the long 4 mile round trip to town. The grand total number of law enforcement vehicles I rode past, 7. Should be a safe weekend around town.

I used the excuse of congrating my son on completing Kindergarten to present him his first BB gun (Daisy 105 Buck, the same model that was my 1st).

He did really well. The length of pull is still a little long & it's all he can do to cock it, but he loves it. We're working on firearm safety fundamentals and having fun; improved "form" and increased accuracy will come. He did comment that the trigger was harder than "his handgun", my Ruger Single-Six.

And yes, I did buy myself a new Red Ryder. I forgot how much fun these things are.

I used to really like this time of year with all the cottonwood...then one fateful day, I decided to fashion a mustache out of the stuff in attempt to get a laugh out of my kids. I was about to holler to get the boys' attention, and when I inhaled, in went the whole mustache. My coughing got their attention for sure; man was it terrible. Now I am a little afraid of the stuff. At least nothing has started to grow yet.

Congratulations to your son! My wife got me a Red Ryder about 10 years ago as a joke, but it's sure fun to shoot.
